Archaeological Society
On Sept. 15, the Darby Creek chapter of
the Archaeological Society of Ohio will meet
at the Madison County Historical Society,
260 E. High St., London. Doors open at 5:30
p.m. for socializing and individually
wrapped snacks, followed by the meeting at

blades. Participants must wear facemasks
that cover the face and mouth. Social distancing
will be observed. Anyone showing or
who thinks they have symptoms of the coronavirus
or other flu-like symptoms, or who

Fish Fries
American Legion Post 201, 9701 W.
Broad St., West Jefferson, will hold limiteditem
fish fries from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 18,
Oct. 2 and Oct. 16. The menu includes: fish
and fries, $6; fish sandwich only, $5; fries
only, $1.50; and drinks, $1. Carryout only.
Any donations will be appreciated to help
the post during the coronavirus (COVID-19)
pandemic.
No Fall Supper
Newport United Methodist Church will
not be holding a fall supper this year.
Solid Waste District
The North Central Ohio Solid Waste District
board of directors, serving Allen,
Champaign, Hardin, Madison, Shelby and

scheduled for Oct. 3, this annual
fundraiser to benefit the community center
is taking place virtually this year. Pick your

Junior Achievement Mad River Region is
hosting a scavenger hunt from 2 to 4 p.m.
Oct. 4. Gather a team for this familyfriendly,
app-based and socially distanced
scavenger hunt around Madison County.
Complete missions, answer trivia questions
and take selfies while competing against
rival teams for prizes. Proceeds will help to
fund financial literacy,
entrepreneurship,and workforce readiness
programs for local students.
The cost to participate is $25 per team of
up to five people. Mission sponsorship opportunities
are available. Cash prizes will
go to the top three teams.

The Trinity United Methodist Women

Loving Giveaway
Trinity United Methodist Church, 8530
Lilly Chapel-Georgesville Rd., London, is
hosting a Loving Giveaway from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. Sept. 19. Gently used clothing, small
household items, gently used toys and coats

The Madison County Board of Developmental
Disabilities will meet at 4 p.m. Sept.

JA Golf Classic
The Junior Achievement Golf Classic is
scheduled for Sept. 25 at Reid Golf Course,
1325 S. Bird Rd., Springfield. The event
benefits JA Mad River Region, serving
Clark, Champaign, Logan and Madison
counties. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m.,
followed by lunch at 11:45. A shotgun start
is slated for 1 p.m. The cost to participate is
