Butler & Tanner has a rich history in the town for many over
the years. Tell us more about the new homes on phase 1?
Following the start of construction we’re really excited to be able
to release some of the new homes on this first phase. Due to a
high level of interest, we are sharing the first release to give the
opportunity to explore the homes and speak to us about the new
homes, prior to Show Home launch.
The design-led regeneration development incorporates materials
inspired by and sympathetic to its natural surroundings. The
homes will have access to open green space; children’s play
area and riverside walks for the new community to gain a closer
interaction with the surrounding wildlife.
What can you tell us about the specification of the homes?
Designed to a superior specification, the homes feature modern
fitted kitchens with integrated appliances and Caesarstone
worktops along with contemporary tiled bathrooms, high ceilings
and oversize windows which encourage natural light to stream in.
Can you tell us more about the bespoke design?
Working with architects Pad Design, the vision was to create
homes which provide a unique addition to Frome’s existing
community and follow Acorn’s ‘Different by Design’ ethos which
means every development is bespoke. Each home features
carefully designed interiors to deliver space for flexible living with
open plan layouts, oversized floor to ceiling heights and large
windows to create light and airy rooms.
Can you tell us more about any sustainable features?
Our fabric-first approach ensures we maximise the performance
of the building envelope prior to further enhancing sustainability.
Features include: Timber frame construction, use of Eco stock
bricks, triple glazing to windows and doors, energy saving
appliances, energy efficient lighting and communal electric car
charging.
There is also a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDs) where
rainwater from the houses and roads is collected and stored in
tanks below the public open space which will then be slowly
released back into the River Frome.
Residents will be able to access 1.5 acres of public open space
across the development, with bio-diversity enhanced by new
landscaping – There have been 81 new trees planted across
the development! There will also be bat and bird boxes provide
additional habitat and built in bee bricks to selected homes to
provide more habitats for the bee population.
