A) It is difficult for clinicians to be awareof all the currently active trials and whatstage these trials are in, at all times. Thismakes it hard to identify suitable participants,as clinicians have to not onlyunderstand the specific details of eachpatient, but need to match up these individualsto trials which all have differentcriteria, and are happening at differenttimes.B) Lists of inclusions and exclusions fortrial eligibility are long and detailed. Thisdepends largely on the patient’s medicalhistory, but also takes into account lifestyleand environment factors such aswhether the patient smokes, their weightand their level of literacy. When genomicsequencing is mainstream practice, thepatients’ genomic information will alsoplay into their eligibility.C) Aside working out whether an individualis a suitable participant, theclinician has to read a huge amount ofinformation in order to understand thespecifics of each trial.
