NATIONAL STEPS

Orchard Road stakeholders showed their support for the National Steps Challenge, a national
campaign by the Health Promotion Board (HPB), with a series of roadshows around the precinct.
These were held at The Centrepoint on 26 - 27 November, 111 Somerset on 2 - 3 December,
Great World City on 5 - 6 December and Tanglin Mall on 12 - 13 December. Free trackers were
distributed to all who visited the booths.
Concurrently, ORBA conducted #ProjectBMI at the same venues as part of the Work Great on
A Great Street initiative to encourage the working community at Orchard Road to be healthier.
Participants had their Body Mass Index (BMI) measured and were educated on their readings.
They also participated in a short survey. PS STAR 2019:

Work Great on A Great Street, ORBA’s collaboration with the HPB to promote a healthy
lifestyle for workers at Orchard Road, is in its third year after a successful launch at the end
of 2017. The year-long programme offers physical workouts, health talks, workshops, health
screenings and other corporate-wide events for free to anyone who works in the precinct.
As part of this programme, we teamed up with Plaza Singapura to organise a five-day event,
PS Star 2019 - Sports Edition, in a bid to encourage healthy living. There were educational
health and wellness stations, a health check station, a smoking cessation booth and back-to-back
evening workouts for event participants. The event was a success with more than 2,800 people
taking part.
