CUHK’S MIM CAPSTONE
SPEAKER SERIES

ORBA Executive Director Mr Steven Goh was invited as a guest speaker for the Chinese
University of Hong Kong’s (CUHK) Master of Science in Management (MIM) Capstone
Speaker Series. He shared on the evolution of Orchard Road and strategies to promote the
precinct and stay relevant.
Held on 14 May 2020, the session, conducted through teleconferencing, attracted 58
attendees including MIM students, CUHK faculty members and senior executives from PT
ASDP Indonesia Ferry and PT Indonesia Ferry Property. Other industry leaders involved in
this Capstone Speaker Series included Mr Wayne Chu, Industry Manager of Google, Ms Enid
Low, Chief Strategy Officer of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited, and Mr Edward Chia,
Co-Founder and Managing Director of Timbre Group.

EARTH HOUR 2020

Earth Hour 2020 took a different tack this year due to the unforeseen Covid-19 circuit
breaker measures. Even so, there was no halting the determination and support of participating
stakeholders, as the World Wide Fund for Nature Singapore took Earth Hour online and hosted
the first-ever fully digital event.
More than 45,000 viewers tuned in to the exciting line-up, with renowned celebrity hosts,
performances by local artistes and a panel discussion. The three-hour programme demonstrated
our nation’s solidarity and showed that each of us can make a difference even from the confines
of our homes.
In addition, malls along Orchard Road that participated in this worldwide movement dimmed or
switched off all non-essential façade lightings for an hour as a show of support.
