Rage
by Bob Woodward
After ignoring interview requests for Woodward’s 2018 book Fear, which
described efforts by members of the early Trump administration to contain the
president’s behavior, Trump allowed Woodward to interview him on more than
a dozen occasions for Rage. CNN reports that the book reveals “explosive
accounts” of Trump’s attitude toward the pandemic, Black Lives Matter, and
other events of 2020.
The book also contains reporting from 25 letters between Trump and North
Korea’s Kim Jong Un that will be public for the first time—including one in
which Kim “describes the bond between the two leaders as out of a ‘fantasy
film,’” according to the publishers Simon & Schuster.
The Rodchenkov Affair
How I Brought Down Putin’s Secret Doping Empire
by Grigory rodchenkov
As a leading chemical scientist and Director of the Moscow Anti-Doping
Laboratory, Dr Grigory Rodchenkov was at the forefront of global efforts to
detect drugs cheats in sport. Yet he was simultaneously running the most
elaborate doping scheme in history, helping thousands of athletes and elite
players evade detection. Then the cracks started to show, and Vladimir Putin
sent him a chilling message . . .
Icarus, the Oscar-winning Netflix film, followed Grigory Rodchenkov as he
turned whistleblower, fled Russia and entered the US Witness Protection
Programme. In this explosive memoir he reveals how everything he has
exposed so far — leading to Russia’s double Olympic bans – is merely the
tip of the iceberg.
Dark Side of the Brain
by lance Burdett
Lance Burdett started writing this book while he was studying for a diploma in
positive psychology, then something tragic happened - his seventeen-year-old
niece took her own life. From that point on, his world was irreparably changed.
This loss proved to him that adversity can hit anyone at any time, often
unexpectedly. The loss of his niece, combined with Lance’s own experience of
depression spurred him on to share the lessons he’s learned about how the
brain works, knowledge which he’s gathered throughout his years both as a
police negotiator and later as a resilience and wellness specialist. In this book,
he explains how to control your thoughts, how to reduce the impact of negative
emotions, and how to manage your personal wellbeing so that you won’t ‘fall
over’ as he once did. He will also show readers how to identify when somebody
else may be struggling with negative thoughts and how to reach out to them in a
way that’s safe for both of you.
