Possum Control –<br />
Poison Warning<br />
LYTTELTON BANKS PENNINSULAR<br />
<strong>2020</strong> - 2021<br />
Excell Biosecurity wishes to advise that a ground-based<br />
possum control operation will be taking place in the Lyttelton<br />
<strong>Harbour</strong> area on Banks Peninsula. This operation is being<br />
conducted to assist in the regeneration of native tree<br />
plantings in the area along the Summit Road.<br />
Areas covered: Control work encompasses the area above<br />
and below the Sumner Road from the area above Sticking<br />
Point up to the Godley Head turn off.<br />
Operation start date: 4th <strong>October</strong> <strong>2020</strong>.<br />
Control methods used on this operation include:<br />
Possum habitat will be targeted either using Double Tap or<br />
Cholecalciferol [Vitamin D3]. The poison baits will be died<br />
green and placed within a white bait station either set on a<br />
wire around 50cm off the ground or mounted to a tree.<br />
The poison is toxic to humans and animals. The public is<br />
warned to take care in these areas and not to remove carcasses<br />
or baits. Warning signs will be posted at all access points.<br />
Traps are going to be used throughout the area following on<br />
from the poisoning methods. Cage traps will be used in areas<br />
where domestic pets are likely to be present.<br />
General warning<br />
• Do not touch poison baits or traps.<br />
• Do not touch poisoned carcasses.<br />
• Keep pets under supervision.<br />
• Do not leave children unattended.<br />
• Follow the advice on the warning signs.<br />
If you suspect poisoning<br />
• Contact your local hospital, or dial 111.<br />
• Call the National Poisons Centre 0800 POISON<br />
– 0800 764 766.<br />
• In the case of a domestic animal being poisoned, contact<br />
a local veterinarian.<br />

REVOCATION OF RESERVE STATUS<br />
– 10 SHACKLETON TERRACE,<br />
LYTTELTON<br />
The Christchurch City Council hereby gives public notice under sections<br />
24(1)(b) of the Reserves Act 1977 that it intends to revoke the reserve status<br />
of the property situated at 10 Shackleton Terrace, Lyttelton, being 325m²<br />
described as Lot 3 Deposited Plan 18984 and contained in identifier 905011.<br />
The reason for the proposal is that this property is no longer required for<br />
the purpose of which it is held – being Street Reserve.<br />
Please note that Council is required to submit to the Minister of<br />
Conservation for final approval, any proposal to revoke the reserve status<br />
following consideration of objections.<br />
Any submission or objection to the reserve revocation should be<br />
sent to Dan Egerton, Christchurch City Council, PO Box 73015,<br />
Christchurch or emailed to dan.egerton@ccc.govt.nz and be<br />
received no later than Friday 30th <strong>October</strong> <strong>2020</strong>.
