Dear Friends of the Chapelwood Foundation,
We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the congregation’s continued support of the Chapelwood
Foundation. Your generous gifts have allowed the Foundation to make a significant impact on the lives of
people both in our immediate community and in the world beyond our doors. The Chapelwood United
Methodist Church Foundation is pleased to present our 2019 Summary Report.
This year’s theme is “The Song in You.” Psalm 40:3 says, “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise
to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.” We pray our song will be heard in our
families, our community and the larger world. The Foundation is spreading our song around the world
and impacting future generations. Lives are changed, people are lifted out of poverty, restored to health
and able to see the wonderful plan God has for their lives.
In 2019, the Foundation was able to distribute $380,000 in scholarships and charitable grants both locally
and globally. We awarded $160,000 in scholarships to 74 deserving students primarily from Spring
Branch. Many of these students are the first in their family to attend college. Community grants in the
amount of $110,000 were awarded to 41 different organizations which provide education, housing, senior
adult ministries, mental health services, abuse prevention, legal services for refugees, prison ministry,
and fighting human trafficking. Your song is heard locally. Global grants of $110,000 were awarded to 30
international organizations providing clean water, farming assistance, education, libraries, wheelchairs,
healthcare, housing, and legal services to vulnerable populations in 16 different countries. The recipients
of these services have heard your song around the world. Please review the following stories to hear how
Chapelwood’s song is impacting our brothers and sisters now and for future generations.
We thank you for sharing your song through the Chapelwood Foundation. We pray that you will continue
to support the Foundation now and in the future so the whole world can trust in God and sing His praises.
In His Service,
