Dear Parishioners, YOUTH MINISTRY I hope everyone is doing well during this unprecedented time. The Youth Ministry has been doing their best to continue the dedicated work they set out to. The Sunday School has been having a combination of classes with children in church and kids joining from home over Zoom. The Greek School has been utilizing Google platforms as well as many educational programs, incorporating both synchronous and asynchronous learning. The Joy/Hope had a wonderful event at Matlock Farm, enjoying the outdoors, where there was pumpkin picking, hayrides, and more. The GOYA wrapped up their summer fundraiser, had a great start of the year outdoor movie night, and is in the process of having elections and planning the year. I want to say thank you to Father Anthony for his guidance and a special thank you to all the Youth Ministry leaders and helpers whose dedication and passion truly make the Youth Ministry what it is. In His Service Danielle Dres I will be keeping you all in my prayers during this time and I hope to see you all soon! Και στα Ελληνικά .... Αγαπητοί Ενορίτες, Ελπίζω ότι όλοι είστε καλά σε αυτόν τον άνευ προηγουμένου χρόνο. Η Διακονία Νεολαίας κάνει ό,τι μπορεί για να συνεχίσει το αφοσιωμένο έργο που έθεσε ως στόχο. Το Κατηχητικό Σχολείο έχει ένα συνδυασμό τάξεων με τα παιδιά πού είναι στην εκκλησία και τα παιδιά που παρακολουθούν από το σπίτι διαδυκτιακά διαμέσου του Ζoom. Το Ελληνικό Σχολείο χρησιμοποιεί πλατφόρμες της Google καθώς και πολλά εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα, ενσωματώνοντας τόσο σύγχρονη όσο και ασύγχρονη μάθηση. Το Joy/Hope είχε μία υπέροχη εκδρομή στο Matlock Farm, απολαμβάνοντας την ύπαιθρο, όπου μαζέψανε κολοκύθια, κάνανε βόλτες στο σανό με τρακτέρ, και πολλά άλλα. Η GOYA ολοκλήρωσε το καλοκαιρινό τους έρανο, είχαν μια υπέροχη αρχή της χρονίας με μία υπαίθρια βραδια ταινιών, και είναι στη διαδικασία διεξαγωγής εκλογών και τον προγραμματισμό της χρονιάς. Θέλω να πω ευχαριστώ στον Πάτερ Αντώνιο για την καθοδήγησή του και ένα ιδιαίτερο ευχαριστώ σε όλους τους ηγέτες καί τους βοηθούς της Διακονίας Νεολαίας, των οποίων η αφοσίωση και το πάθος κάνουν πραγματικά τη Διακονία Νεολαίας αυτό που είναι. Members and friends of our church, Over the past few months, our GOYA has been working hard and brainstorming ideas for ways to help our community, during the time of the Coronavirus. As you may know, we decided to hold a fundraiser to raise money to buy items needed for the Philoxenia House and the Little Sisters of The Poor. Unfortunately, later in the project, we received a letter notifying us that the Little Sisters of The Poor, in Somerville, would be closing. Because of this, we had to act fast and decide on another organization in need of donations. After discussing and researching many other organizations, we decided to donate to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Both the Philoxenia House and the Greater Boston Food Bank are organizations always in need, especially during this pandemic. We had the goal of raising at least $2,600 for this fundraiser, but thanks to your generous donations, we raised $3,000. As a GOYA, we decided to give $1,000, a combination of needed items and cash to the Philoxenia House, and a $1,000 donation to the Greater Boston Food Bank. The rest of the money will be put into the youth ministry account, for a future project to give back to the community. We would like to thank all those who donated to help us help those in need during this pandemic. A special thanks to Danielle Dres for leading us in this project. Thank you always for your guidance and support to lead us to success. I would also like to thank all of our hard-working GOYAns that helped make this project so successful. I am proud of you guys, and thank you for dedicating your time and effort into the project. Also, thank you Father for his guidance. Μέλη και φίλοι της εκκλησίας μας, Τούς τελευταίους μήνες, η GOYA μας εχει δουλέψει σκληρά καί προσπαθεί να βρεί ιδέες και τρόπους πώς να βοηθήσει την κοινότητά μας κατά τη διάρκεια της επιδημίας. Όπως γνωρίζετε, αποφασίσαμε να κάνουμε ένα έρανο να συγκεντρώσουμε χρήματα για να αγοράσουμε αντικείμενα που χρειάζονταν ο οίκος Φιλοξενίας και ο οργανισμός “Little Sisters of The Poor.” Δυστυχώς λάβαμε μία επιστολή που μας ενημέρωσε ότι το “Little Sisters of The Poor” στο Somerville, θα έκλεινε. Εξαιτίας αυτού, έπρεπε να δράσουμε γρήγορα και να αποφασίσουμε για κάποιον άλλο οργανισμό πού χρειάζεται δωρεές. Αφού συζητήσαμε και ερευνήσαμε πολλούς άλλους οργανισμούς, αποφασίσαμε να κάνουμε δωρεές στον οργανισμό “Greater Boston Food Bank”. Τόσο ο οίκος Φιλοξενίας, όσο και το “Greater Boston Food Bank,” είναι οργανισμοί πού έχουν πάντα ανάγκη, κυρίως κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας. Είχαμε βάλει ένα στόχο να μαζέψουμε τουλάχιστον 2,600 δολάρια για αυτόν τον έρανο, και χάρη της γενναιοδωρία σας, μαζέψαμε 3,000 δολάρια. Ως GOYA, αποφασίσαμε να δώσουμε 1,000 δολάρια, εναν συνδυασμό μετρητών και απαιτούμενων πραγμάτων στον οίκο της Φιλοξενίας, και μία δωρεά 1,000 δολαρίων στο “Greater Boston Food Bank.” Τα υπόλοιπα χρήματα θα τοποθετηθούν στον τραπεζικό λογαριασμό μας για ένα μελλοντικό έργο.
