Over the last twelve months, we have all encountered challenges and
changes that we wouldn’t have expected to face this time last year. In
this rapidly changing world, the need to contribute additional skills to
your CV has never been so important.
Perhaps you have been made redundant or are currently facing
redundancy. Maybe you are looking to learn fresh skills and seek out
new employment. You might even be considering strengthening your

We offer a huge variety of part-time adult courses to help you upskill,
secure that new job or promotion, progress onto university or perhaps
even just meet new friends.
Worried about leaving the house? No problem! We have a selection
of FREE distance learning qualifications which can be studied
independently and at your own pace at home (or within the workplace).
You may find that one of our online learning courses, where study is
completed via our online portal, is more suitable for your requirements.

Courses colour coded green allow you to enrol online at wvr.ac.uk or over the
telephone by contacting us on 01925 494 400 or call in to our Warrington or
Winsford campuses.
Please note that our adult leisure courses do not offer a formal qualification/certificate upon
completion. They are designed to be fun and teach students new skills.
For courses colour coded cyan, you can enrol over the phone by contacting us
on 01925 494 400.
For courses colour coded yellow, you will need to complete a written assessment
before you can enrol.
For courses colour coded red, you will need to complete an online application at
wvr.ac.uk or call in to our Warrington or Winsford campuses.
Courses colour coded purple are Advanced Learner Loan funded. You will need
to complete an online application at wvr.ac.uk or call in to our Warrington or
Winsford campuses. See page 6 for more information about student finance.
You may choose not to apply for the loan and therefore pay for the course yourself
via monthly instalments.

Student Finance
Study now, pay later with 19+ Advanced Learning Loans!
If you are aged 19 or over, studying a level 3
qualification or above, you may be eligible for
a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan.
• It’s easy to apply for the loan
• It doesn’t depend on your household income
• There is no credit check
• You won’t have to pay anything back until your annual
income is over £25,725.
To qualify for a loan
you need to...
• Be aged 19 or over at the
start of the course
• Apply for an eligible
course at level 3 or above
• Have been a resident in
the UK for 3 years.
Any courses in this guide colour coded purple • are Advanced Learning Loan funded.

Your course may be FREE! *
If you are in receipt of an income based benefit or in employment
and are earning less than £17,004 (£18,525 if you reside in Liverpool
Region Combined Authority) per year, your course may be FREE! *
Please ensure you bring either your last two months’ pay slips, or your P60, or your contract of
employment with you when you come in to enrol.

Financial Support
You may be able to access a wide range of finance and
funding support to help you during your time at college.
If you are aged 19 or over and either
your household income is below £31,000,
or you currently live with parents who
support you whilst you are in education,
you may be eligible to receive support
from the further education bursary fund.
Household income refers to the total gross taxable
income of the household. If you are aged 19 or
over and live with parents, we will not take their
income into account, just any income or benefits
which are paid to you.
The further education bursary
fund could support you with the
cost of:
• Childcare (although if you are aged under
20 at the start of your course you must apply
directly to Care to Learn)
• Monies towards the cost of kit, uniform or
equipment
• Educational visits (up to a maximum of
£400 per student)
• Travel costs (including contribution towards
petrol costs or a bus pass)
• DBS costs
• Support with costs of getting to university
interviews
• Contribution towards tuition fees you may
have to pay.

We know that not everyone is tech-savvy and that sometimes a little (or a lot of) tech support would
go a long way in a world that seems to be getting more and more technological by the day!
We have put together a selection of short courses to help bridge the gap when it comes to tech
know-how and help even those with the most limited of skills gain confidence when getting online.

Our one day taster sessions last for 3 hours and will equip with the basic skills needed to feel confident
when tackling social media, your new smartphone or shopping and banking online. Feel free to join us

Introduction to Essential Digital Skills
Our introduction course provides students with a taster into five main subject areas, including: using
devices and handling information, creating and editing, communicating online, transacting online
activities and how to be responsible, safe and legal online.
