Please follow our easy guide below:
Courses colour-coded green allow you to enrol online
at wvr.ac.uk or over the telephone by contacting us on
01925 494 400 or call into our Warrington or Winsford
campuses.
Please note that our adult leisure courses do not offer a
formal qualification/certificate upon completion. They are
designed to be fun and teach students new skills.
For courses colour-coded blue, you can enrol over the
phone by contacting us on 01925 494 400.
For courses colour-coded yellow, you will need to
complete a written assessment before you can enrol.
For courses colour-coded red, you will need to complete
an online application at wvr.ac.uk or call into our
Warrington or Winsford campuses.
Courses colour-coded purple are Advanced Learner Loan
funded. You will need to complete an online application
at wvr.ac.uk or call in to our Warrington or Winsford
campuses. See page 4 for more information about
student finance.
You may choose not to apply for the loan and therefore
pay for the course yourself via monthly instalments.

Your course may be FREE *
If you are in receipt of an income-based benefit or in employment and are earning
less than £17,374.50 (£18,525 if you reside in Liverpool City Region Combined
Authority) per year, your course may be FREE! *
You also may be eligible for fee remission * if you meet a specific funding criteria or are in receipt
of the benefits listed below:
• You are aged 19-23 and do not already have a full level 2
qualification
• You are aged 19+ and studying for your first full level 3
qualification or you are in receipt of an eligible benefit or
your income is below the national living wage (£18,525)
(National Skills Fund - Level 3 Skills Guarantee)
• If you live in Liverpool City Region Combined Authority
(LCRCA) and wish to study a level 1 or level 2 course, your
course may be FREE *
• ACL courses are also FREE * if you are in employment and
earn less than the national living wage (£18,525) or in
receipt of an eligible benefit.
Further Education Bursary
You may be able to access a wide range of finance and funding support
to help you during your time at college.

If you are aged 19 or over and either your household income is below £32,000 * , or you currently live with parents who
support you whilst you are in education, you may be eligible to receive support from the college bursary fund.
*This threshold is increased by £1000 per child in a household of 4 or more (maximum 6 children).
The further education bursary fund could support you with the cost of:
• Childcare
(If you are aged under 20 at the
start of your course you must
apply directly to Care to Learn)
• Kit uniform or equipment
• DBS costs
• Travel costs
(including contribution towards
petrol costs or a bus pass)
• Support with costs of getting
to university interviews
• Educational visits
(up to a maximum of £400 per
student)
• Contribution towards tuition
fees you may have to pay.

19+ Advanced Learning Loans
Study now, pay later! If you are aged 19 or over and studying
a level 3 qualification or above, you may be eligible for a
19+ Advanced Learning Loan.
• It is easy to apply for the loan
• It doesn’t depend on your household income
• There is no credit check
• You won’t have to pay anything back until your annual
income is over £27,295
To qualify for an Advanced
Learning Loan you need to:
• Be aged 19 or over at the start
of the course
• Apply for an eligible course at
level 3 or above
• Have been a resident in the UK
for 3 years.
Any courses in this guide colour-coded purple • are Advanced Learning Loan funded.
Higher Education Loans
All of our HNC/HND courses are eligible for a higher education loan,
which you only start to repay once you are earning over £27,295 a year.
Eligible students studying their first full-time or part-time undergraduate course can apply
for a tuition fee loan; this will cover the cost of the course and is paid directly to the college.
Maintenance loans of up to £9,706 per year are also available for full-time students living
away from home, and up to £8,171 per year for full-time students living with their parents.
Pay in instalments
If your course is over £100 you can pay in instalments. The duration of the course will determine the
maximum number of instalments over which fees can be paid (maximum 8). You will be required to
pay the first instalment at enrolment.

of Other Languages
Whether you are brand-new to the English language or already have some
basic knowledge, our ESOL courses are perfect for you.
The course covers several levels of competence in English, from complete beginners right the way
up to GCSE-equivalent level. You’ll develop skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking which
you will be able to apply to a wide range of career and educational opportunities.

to Higher
Education

University has never been more accessible with our
range of Access to Higher Education (HE) courses on
offer at Warrington & Vale Royal College.
Our Access to HE courses are aimed at those adults who do not have the formal
qualifications for higher education or haven’t got the level 3 qualifications to change career.
Why choose us?
Study now, pay later: all our Access to HE courses are government funded by an Advanced
Learner Loan, which you won’t have to pay back if you go on to complete a degree after
the course.
Expert tutors: all our tutors are highly qualified and experienced professionals with a wealth of

Fantastic facilities: our modern campuses are equipped with state-of-the-art, industry
