heightened buyer interest in 2020<br />
Specialist vehicles – including vacuum tankers,<br />
beavertails, fire trucks, cherry pickers and hooklifts<br />
– registered the biggest year-<strong>on</strong>-year (YoY) increases<br />
in enquiries <strong>on</strong> Australia’s leading transport and<br />
machinery classifieds network in the period<br />
January 1–October 31, new data reveals.<br />
Almost 4,000 trucks – from beavertails to water carriers<br />
– are advertised for sale across the network comprising<br />
BusNews.com.au, Fullyloaded.com.au, OwnerDriver.com.<br />
au, TradeTrucks.com.au, TradeEarthmovers.com.au,<br />
TradeFarmMachinery.com.au and TradePlantEquipment.<br />
com.au – reaching some 450,000 ‘unique’ buyers in September.<br />
Off the back of a 13.75 per cent increase in enquiries and 12.82<br />
per cent lift in searches across all truck types, enquiries <strong>on</strong><br />
vacuum tankers jumped 500 per cent (and searches +30.75 per<br />
cent) in the period compared to the same time last year; ahead<br />
of beavertails (+182.35 per cent in enquiries; +21.38 per cent in<br />
searches), fire trucks (+114.28 per cent in enquiries; +6.28 per cent<br />
in searches), cherry pickers (+112.5 per cent in enquiries; -8.36 per<br />
cent in searches), and hooklifts (+112.5 per cent in enquiries; -3.2<br />
per cent in searches).<br />
Rounding out the top 10 were dual cabs (+79.16 per cent in<br />
enquiries; -8.93 per cent in searches), c<strong>on</strong>crete mixers (+47.82 per<br />
cent in enquiries; -9.31 per cent in searches), pantechs (+42.78 per<br />
cent in enquiries; +25.27 per cent in searches), tippers (+30.35 per<br />
cent in enquiries; +31.47 per cent in searches), refrigerated (+28.8<br />
per cent in enquiries; +19.4 per cent in searches), and cab chassis<br />
(+19.08 per cent in enquiries; +0.85 per cent in searches).<br />
