It's the fall season andexcept for a few hardy soulswho ventured north to fishfor salmon, the fishing seasonhas come to an end. To say theyear was unique would be anunderstatement. Some tripswere enjoyed while others had tobe cancelled.In October we hada nice dinner meetingwith our Ladiesand, after a shortbusiness meeting, weenjoyed two guestspeakers. First was apresentation from thecouple who, for thelast 4 or 5 years, hasdonated $1,000 to the Rajah transportation fund. Bill and Chris Hankee have fund raising golftournaments throughout the Lehigh Valley in honor of their daughter. They are very specialpeople. Next was a neighbor of mine who experienced fishing on the bass pro tour. From Maineto California, he rubbed elbows with the top names on the tour. Hopefully in the near future wewill have more meetings of this type.Two last items for your information are that we will be bagging our fall sauerkraut for theupcoming winter and holiday seasons and we will need to resolve how to handle our Christmas/Ladies Night details while staying within the rules of the virus as they are now.Have a great and safe holiday season and I hope to see you at future meetings.ORIENTAL BANDSeasons Greetings from the Oriental Band!Our monthly meeting for October was held at yet another new establishment. The Coplay Seangerbundis still closed on Tuesdays. Thank goodness for Noble Wayne Grumbein being an officer at the CetroniaFire Company Social Hall! Noble Wayne made the arrangements for us to meet there. It’s good to havepeople in high places. Thank you again, Noble Wayne.At our meeting we again had our Illustrious Sir Marv Miller and an entourage of Divan. The IllustriousSir gave us updates of the goings on at our Shrine Center. Illustrious Sir is now known as the “PandemicPotentate.” It is always good to have the support of a very strong Divan. Our units certainly have it.Our November meeting was a bust. Being Election Day, the fire hall is used for voting and theSeagerbund is still closed. Oh well, better luck in December.On a sad note, the Black Camel visited yet another Noble of the Band. Noble Joe Prisaznik, a longtime member, Past President, and a first rate finger cymbal player until his retirement, passed away aftera long illness. The members of the Band would like to pass along their condolences to Joe’s Lady Evangeline better known as“Vangie,” his sons Michael and Barry and daughters Eileen and Lisa and their families.Again, there is little to report on. We certainly hope next year is better for all. How much worse could it get?
