SCARBERRY<br />

Frank J. “Johnnie” Scarberry, 67, of<br />

Westerville died on Jan. 2, 2021, at Heartland<br />

of Westerville. Johnnie was born on<br />

June 27, 1953, in Williamson, W.Va., a son<br />

of Frank T. and Kathleen (Blackburn) Scarberry.<br />

He is survived by: his children,<br />

Jonathan (Melissa) Scarberry of Columbus,<br />

and Brandy Scarberry of Galloway; siblings,<br />

Brenda Gibney and David Scarberry, both<br />

of London, Pam (Greg) Fitchpatrick of<br />

Springfield, Judy (Kevin Jarrell) Stevens of<br />

London, Roger (Missy) Scarberry of North<br />

Carolina, and Richard (Kelly Fox) Scarberry<br />

of Columbus; grandchildren, Elijah, Peyton,<br />

Hunter, Kaden, Chace and Avannah; numerous<br />

nieces and nephews. He was preceded<br />

in death by: his parents, and brothers,<br />

Freddie and Randy. A funeral service was<br />

held Jan. 11 at Lynch Family Funeral<br />

Home, London. The funeral home respectfully<br />

requested that those attending the<br />

services wear a mask. Social distancing was<br />

LONG<br />

Lois A. Long, 87, of Williamsport, Ohio,<br />

passed away on Jan. 5, 2021, in Circleville,<br />

Ohio. Born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late<br />

Melvin and Geneva Jordan, she was also<br />

preceded in death by her beloved husband,<br />

Eldon, daughter, Vanessa Long, and her sister,<br />

Donna Paul. Lois is survived by her<br />

sons, Jeffrey Long and Eldon J. Long II,<br />

seven grandsons, two granddaughters, 14<br />

great-grandchildren, and many loving and<br />

special friends. A funeral service was held<br />

on Jan. 8 at Porter-Tidd Funeral Home,<br />

Mount Sterling. Burial followed at<br />

Springlawn Cemetery, Williamsport, Ohio.<br />

HOLLOWAY<br />

Edward Jay Holloway, 69, of London died<br />

on Jan. 6, 2021, at Doctors Hospital West,<br />

Columbus. Ed was born on Sept. 28, 1951,<br />

in Mansfield, Ohio, a son of Herbert C. and<br />

Ruth (Jackson) Holloway. Ed loved to fish in<br />

all manners. He was an electrician for 45<br />

years. He adored his grandkids. He coached<br />

his daughter in softball and was involved<br />

with his son’s baseball. He was a loving and<br />

caring husband. Ed is survived by: his wife<br />

of 43 years, Ki “Colleen” Holloway; children,<br />

Aron Holloway of Groveport, Mike (Melissa)<br />

Holloway of London, Shawn (Lori) Holloway<br />

of Mount Vernon, and Kaitlin (Chris) Morrison<br />

of Lebanon; brothers, Dick (Linda)<br />

Holloway of California, Tracy (Shelly) Holloway<br />

and Jeff Holloway, all of Columbus;<br />

grandchildren, Aubrey, Gianna, Vivian, Ciaran<br />

and Frances; several nieces and<br />

nephews, including a special niece, Melody.<br />

He was preceded in death by his parents. A<br />

funeral service was held on Jan. 13 at Lynch<br />

Family Funeral Home, London. Condolences<br />

HAMMONS<br />

William “Billy” Eugene Hammons, 83, of<br />

London died on Jan. 8, 2021, in his residence.<br />

Billy was born on Feb. 9, 1937, in<br />

London, Ohio, the son of Henry and Bertha<br />

(Riffit) Hammons. He had been employed by<br />

Gantner Screw Products in Springfield for<br />

many years. Billy was an outstanding pool<br />

player and loved to fish, go to the horse<br />

races at Scioto Downs, and scratch-off’ lottery<br />

tickets. He visited his daughter every<br />

day and loved his Cincinnati Bengals. He is<br />

survived by: children, Brenda (Gene) Dennen<br />

of London, Lonnie Hammons of London;<br />

brother, Donnie (Harriett) Hammons of<br />

Lafayette; grandchildren, Joshua Shawn<br />

Hammons, Brian Wayne (Erica) Johnson,<br />

Gregory Allen Hammons, Mandy Dawn<br />

Johnson, Patricia Nicole “Niki” Hammons<br />

(Anthony) Cogossi, Andrea Ruschelle Hammons<br />

(Josh) John, Michael Eugene (Brittany)<br />

Hammons; 17 great-grandchildren; 5<br />

great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces<br />

and nephews. He was preceded in death by:<br />

his parents; wife, Josi Geneva (Sparks)<br />

Hammons; son, Jack Allen Hammons. A funeral<br />

SALYER<br />

James Roger Salyer, 84, of West Jefferson<br />

passed away on Jan. 9, 2021, in Circleville.<br />

Jim graduated from West Jefferson High<br />

School Class of 1955. He was a proud U.S.<br />

Air Force veteran and a graduate of The<br />

Ohio State University in 1975. He retired<br />

from Western Electric after 30 years of service<br />

and OSU Hospital in the I.T. Department.<br />

He was preceded in death by his<br />

parents, Ransom and Lillie Salyer, and<br />

brothers, Jack and Joe Salyer. James is survived<br />

by: his loving wife, Karen of 32 years;<br />

children, Janet (Jim) Baker and Jayne Oswalt;<br />

step-children, David (Sandi) Pezdirtz,<br />

Ann Greenwood, Stephen (Paula) Pezdirtz,<br />

and Krista Julian; grandchildren, Kirby<br />

(Sean) Wary, Dan (Meghan) Oswalt, Kyle<br />

Baker, Kathryn Oswalt, Kendra Baker and<br />

Korey Baker; great-grandchildren, Marleigh,<br />

Cambria, Noel, Cade, Teller, and<br />

Micah; many step-grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.<br />

Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson.<br />

DIETSCH<br />

Deborah K. Dietsch, 62, of West Jefferson<br />

left this earth on Jan. 11, 2021, at<br />

Mount Carmel Grove City. Born on Jan. 17,<br />

1958, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the<br />

daughter of the late Robert E. and Mary B.<br />

(Frey) Dietsch. She was a member of Sts.<br />

Simon and Jude Catholic Church and a life<br />

member of V.F.W. Post 7005 and the Ladies<br />

Auxiliary, all of West Jefferson. Survivors<br />

include: daughter, Amber R. (James N.)<br />

Daniels of Springfield, Ohio; cherished<br />

grandchildren, Thomas J. Price and<br />

Cheyenne L. Cook of Fairborn, Ohio, Dante<br />

J. Daniels, Dakota R. McGarey, Chance J.<br />

Daniels, all of Springfield; numerous<br />

beloved cousins; special friends, Annette M.<br />

McGRAW<br />

Beverly Ann (Radabaugh) McGraw, 81,<br />

of Ypsilanti, Mich., passed away on May 21,<br />

<strong>2020</strong>, at her home. Beverly was born on Oct.<br />

and Wilmington College. Beverly was an elementary<br />

teacher for many years and<br />

earned her master’s degree while teaching.<br />

She was an avid reader and loved to travel<br />

and spend time with her family. Beverly<br />

was preceded in death by: her parents; her<br />

loving husband of 56 years, Theodore James<br />

(T.J.) McGraw; a daughter, Rebecca Mc-<br />

Graw; son, David (Wendy) McGraw; two<br />

grandsons, Matthew and James; brother,<br />

William (Suellen) Radabaugh; sister, Judy<br />

(James) Davis; nephew, Jonathan (Angie)<br />

Radabaugh; and great-niece and greatnephews,<br />

Aidan, Avery and Connor Radabaugh.<br />

May 29, <strong>2020</strong>, at Pleasant Cemetery, Mount<br />

Sterling, Ohio. The family was served by<br />

Velma Pollard 89, of Argillite, Ky, was<br />

called home on <strong>January</strong> 1, 2021. She was born on<br />

November 13, 1931 to the late Dwight Myers and<br />

Nellie Myers Wilson in Ross county, Ohio. She was<br />

a longtime resident of West Jefferson and a<br />

member of the Baptist Church. She was loved by<br />

everyone who knew her. Her love for her family<br />

and her furbabies was immense. She is preceded<br />

in death by her only sibling, John Myers, her only<br />

son, Ricky (Skip) Pollard, husband of 32 years, Jack<br />

N. Pollard and her parents. She is survived by<br />

daughters, Jackie (Jack) Cain, Kim (Joe) Marcum,<br />

Tammy (Gerry) Hicks and Angela McCall, her<br />

loving furbaby Molly, 15 grandchildren, several<br />

great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.<br />

Arrangements were handled by Wright's<br />

Funeral Home in Grayson, Ky. A memorial service<br />

will be held at a later date by the family.<br />
