Reconciling in Christ Ministries Pastor Jim Greear
As a member church of the Reconciled in Christ Community of the Greater
Milwaukee Synod, we were slated to host the annual Synodical RIC Seminar
in the spring. However, that was subsequently cancelled- as were several
other events that the RIC community annually looks forward to; Pride Parade
chief among them.
Our local outreach with the Milwaukee LGBT Center’s older adult group,
Fifty And Better (FAB), in which we would bring a monthly meal to their
meetings at the Center likewise was cancelled. However, collaborating with
Christin Carter, the group’s Administrator, we were able to provide “virtual
meals” through Grub Hub gift cards to the participants accompanied by
greeting cards wishing them well
and wishing we could be together.
For Thanksgiving, we were able to
be the main hub for the distribution
of Thanksgiving Meals for the group.
With the help of Mount Carmel’s
Cooking Club, we were able put
together “To Go Turkey” meals for
FAB Members who drove through
our carport to give all of us a
chance to see one another and to
pick up a nice treat for their holiday
festivities.
