Make Test<strong>in</strong>g Part<br />

of Your Rout<strong>in</strong>e<br />

People who must leave their homes to make essential visits<br />

dur<strong>in</strong>g lockdown are be<strong>in</strong>g urged to get tested <strong>in</strong> one of<br />

Staffordshire’s Community Test<strong>in</strong>g Centres.<br />

The centres, one <strong>in</strong> each district and borough are open seven<br />

days a week for people without symptoms.<br />

Be<strong>in</strong>g open over weekends will give people hav<strong>in</strong>g to make<br />

essential visits through the week more options to get tested<br />

regularly.<br />

1 <strong>in</strong> 3 people do not display any symptoms – gett<strong>in</strong>g tested<br />

regularly provides peace of m<strong>in</strong>d that essential travellers are<br />

not unwitt<strong>in</strong>gly spread<strong>in</strong>g the virus to the vulnerable.<br />

Dr Johnny McMahon Staffordshire County Council’s Cab<strong>in</strong>et<br />

Member for Health, Care and Wellbe<strong>in</strong>g, said: “Everyone <strong>in</strong><br />

Staffordshire should be stay<strong>in</strong>g at home wherever possible.<br />

However, there are some people who cannot work from home<br />

and some people who are mak<strong>in</strong>g essential visits.<br />

“For these people we are strongly urg<strong>in</strong>g to get tested<br />

regularly.”<br />

Gett<strong>in</strong>g a test is quick, simple, free and now available seven<br />

days a week. Mak<strong>in</strong>g it part of your weekly rout<strong>in</strong>e may well<br />

protect the people you <strong>in</strong>teract with on a day-to-day basis and<br />

the wider community at large.<br />

Several lateral flow test<strong>in</strong>g sites have been set up <strong>in</strong> the area<br />

– these give results with<strong>in</strong> 30 m<strong>in</strong>utes.<br />

For anybody <strong>in</strong> a Covid hotspot area where numbers of cases<br />

are very high, it is especially important to get tested if they have<br />

to leave the house.<br />

These tests are only available for people who do not have<br />
