GEA marks new milestone in compressor efficiency with introduction
of the GEA Bock HGX44e CO2
GEA
GEA has introduced a new generation
of subcritical compressors GEA Bock
HGX44e CO2 for the natural refrigerant
carbon dioxide, setting a milestone
especially for industrial low temperature
applications in cold stores and in the food
industry.
customers above all through improved
process efficiency with minimised energy
costs, while at the same time expanding
the range of applications and uses. And
all this with the highest reliability thanks
to our proven GEA Bock CO2 compressor
design.”
One advantage of the HGX44e
In addition to the higher
compressors is a minimum
compressor efficiency,
6% higher CO2 compressor
the new HGX44e CO2
efficiency compared to
series with its four model
customary compressors,
variants sets further
thus reducing
standards for subcritical
operating costs,
CO2 compressors.
according to Manuel
These include extended
operating conditions, for
temperature range with
new series, which has been successfully evaporating temperatures from -50 o C to
launched on the market, scores points with -15 o C and condensing temperatures up
to +15 o C, adapted maximum permissible
operating pressure and the performance
spectrum with swept volumes from 27.7-
49.2m 3 /h and corresponding refrigerating
capacity from 51-90kW.
Furthermore, the refrigeration and airconditioning
team from Frickenhausen has
optimised the running characteristics of
the new compressors – minimised noise,
vibrations and pulsations ensure a higher
level of user comfort as well as greater
system safety and reliability with minimised
maintenance requirements.
“Our HGX44e compressors for the natural
refrigerant CO2 offer planners, investors
and operators’ solutions for industrial
low temperature applications where
functionality, cost-effectiveness and
climate protection go hand in hand. We call
this The o Clever Art of Cooling,” Fröschle
concluded. ■
