HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE
If you have a caring nature and would like to work with people,
our Health & Social Care courses could be the perfect fit for you.
The courses will enable you to care for people in a range of
settings and gain the experience and knowledge necessary to
begin a rewarding career within the industry.
Level 2 Health & Social Care
A one-year practical course which provides you with a valuable
introduction to the field and equips you with a range of
transferable skills. You will cover a range of modules including:
communication, human growth and development, equality
and diversity.
Level 3 Health & Social Care
A two-year course which strengthens your knowledge of the
health and social care sector and prepares you for the next
steps in your chosen career. You will cover a broad range
of modules including: human growth and development,
psychological perspectives, and infection prevention
and control.

Careers not Courses
There are plenty of pathways to choose from within this
ever-growing sector. Due to an ageing workforce, there is
an increasing demand for new professionals to enter the
field. Students can progress onto a huge variety of roles
including midwife, nurse, care worker, and social worker.

Meet our tutor:
Alison Hetherington
Health & Social Care tutor Alison has
taught at the college for the past 20
years, following her career in nursing
and midwifery.
Alison uses her extensive industry experience to inform
her teaching and enjoys helping students achieve their
ambitions. She says: “It is a pleasure to be involved in the
career journey of young people and set them on their path
to reaching their goals.”
