If you have a caring nature and would like to work with people,<br />
our Health & Social Care courses could be the perfect fit for you.<br />
The courses will enable you to care for people in a range of<br />
settings and gain the experience and knowledge necessary to<br />
begin a rewarding career within the industry.<br />
Level 2 Health & Social Care<br />
A one-year practical course which provides you with a valuable<br />
introduction to the field and equips you with a range of<br />
transferable skills. You will cover a range of modules including:<br />
communication, human growth and development, equality<br />
and diversity.<br />
Level 3 Health & Social Care<br />
A two-year course which strengthens your knowledge of the<br />
health and social care sector and prepares you for the next<br />
steps in your chosen career. You will cover a broad range<br />
of modules including: human growth and development,<br />
psychological perspectives, and infection prevention<br />

Careers not Courses<br />
There are plenty of pathways to choose from within this<br />
ever-growing sector. Due to an ageing workforce, there is<br />
an increasing demand for new professionals to enter the<br />
field. Students can progress onto a huge variety of roles<br />
including midwife, nurse, care worker, and social worker.<br />

Meet our tutor:<br />
Alison Hetherington<br />
Health & Social Care tutor Alison has<br />
taught at the college for the past 20<br />
years, following her career in nursing<br />
and midwifery.<br />
Alison uses her extensive industry experience to inform<br />
her teaching and enjoys helping students achieve their<br />
ambitions. She says: “It is a pleasure to be involved in the<br />
career journey of young people and set them on their path<br />
to reaching their goals.”
