Gift Sets G1
The first series of Gift Sets came out in 1960 in a stronger box and with an outer sleeve.
These were the first to be named as Gift Sets and designated with a G and number. The
exception was a Gift Set marked as Matchbox Garage Gift Set, a very rare set. They were
retailed wherever Matchbox models were marketed and were also themed.
