A HOLISTIC EDUCATION FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW
Teaching and learning at HKA is dynamic, engaging and student-centred. Innovative
and future-focussed programmes support students to develop into independent and
self-directed learners. We use the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme
(IB MYP) and Diploma Programme (IB DP) to deliver a rigorous, robust and balanced
curriculum. In every subject area, students are challenged to think critically and creatively
as well as communicate precisely and effectively. They develop research, collaboration and
self-management skills that transfer across contexts. From Grade 6 to Grade 12, students
build upon their strengths, identify areas for further growth and reflect on their interests
and aspirations to determine their best-fit pathway to graduation.
NURTURING GLOBAL CITIZENS
As an international community, we recognise the
importance of educating students to contribute to
the world in meaningful and sustainable ways. HKA
students engage with a wide range of partner
organisations and use their passions to launch their own
initiatives. This commitment to self-directed learning
culminates in the Global Citizen Diploma, a credential
that celebrates each student’s individual journey
towards global citizenship.

LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
HKA students are motivated to act based on their
interests, passions and strengths. Whether during
a service project, on a sports pitch or through a
performance, we provide an extensive range of
opportunities for personal growth and sustained
commitment that are enhanced in the co-curricular
context. Secondary School students initiate clubs and
activities that promote community engagement and
participate in a number of field trips and off-campus
excursions throughout the year.

We believe that every child has gifts to be nurtured and
celebrated. We challenge, motivate and support each student
to achieve their greatest potential, and our inclusive learning
environment mirrors the real world in its diversity and
complexity. This commitment to inclusivity begins with our
youngest learners and extends through to graduation. For
students at every age, counselling and wellbeing are
fundamental aspects of our programme. Additional
interventions, extensions and language instruction are also

INSPIRING ON THE STAGE
Through the performing arts, students create, collaborate
and innovate, elevating their talents in music, dance,
drama and theatre tech. Our world-class rehearsal and
performance spaces include a 350-seat professional grade
theatre, 80-seat studio theatre, dance studios, music
studios and noise-isolation practice spaces. We are home
to the International Schools Theatre Association
Performing Arts Academy, which connects students
with industry professionals via masterclasses, workshops
and internships.
LEADING ON THE COURT
Our sports programme focuses on the development of
collaboration, leadership and technical skills through
both recreational and competitive play. Student athletes
represent HKA in a wide range of individual and team
events at competitions both locally and internationally.
Our 800-seat gymnasium, indoor climbing wall,
multi-purpose outdoor sports court, all-weather football
pitch, fitness studios and weight training gym support
athletes to achieve their sporting goals all year round.
