Lincoln battedfirst at Darfield Domain
against ahome side looking for awin to
lock itself into third place.
Country Rep allrounder Joe Williams
with arunaball 50.
Arthur Paterson, batting at No. 3, scored
competitive 251 off its allotted 45 overs.
In reply, Darfield was in trouble early
thanks to somegreat newball bowling
from Hugh Paterson and TaylorHolland.
Alister Collins was the onlyDarfield
batsman to get under way but, when
dismissed for 60, Darfield’s hopes faded
with him. Darfield was eventually bundled
out for 210, handingLincolnits first oneday
thanks to an outstanding newball spell by
Blom removedthe inform duo of
MackenzieSmith and Chris Warner early
in Sefton’sinnings.
Afighting knock fromLanceTaylor
At Mandeville, Weedons needed to
trounce the homeside for achance of
making the semifinals on net run rate.
Ohokabatted first and postedabig total
Lyonscompiled118 off 136 ballsand he
was well supported by Canterbury Country
rep keeperbatsman Will Hamilton with 98
In reply, Weedons started brightly,with
its opening batsman and talisman Todd
Inness scoring 76 off 87 balls.
But the Weedonsmiddle order couldn’t
create anysubstantial partnerships
through the middleoverswhich eventually
meantthe side was bowled out for 211 in
