GETTING SALVATION RIGHT - ALBERT ELISHA OBERDORFER

It is vital that we follow the doctrine of the first apostles. In particular, when it comes to bringing people to the Lord. What do we see in Acts? We see the disciples preaching the gospel with Holy Spirit firepower. We see people, who believe, get baptized. WE SEE PEOPLE GETTING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. We see them speak in other tongues. And in cases where people do not believe yet, or they haven’t got baptized yet, or they haven’t received the Holy Spirit yet, we see the first disciples help those people. - By preaching to them, as Paul preached to the Ephesians in Acts 19. - By baptizing them, as Philip baptized the Samarians in Acts 8. - By praying for them to receive the Holy Spirit, as Peter and John prayed for the Samarians in Acts 8. And what terminology do the apostles use when they talk about those events later? Get a crystal-clear picture of how to bring a person to the Lord. SO THAT YOU CAN GIVE NEW BELIEVERS A GOOD HEAD START IN THEIR WALK WITH THE LORD.

We see this same picture as in Acts 8.
Someone qualified—someone who has
received the Holy Spirit—preaches
the gospel of Jesus’ death, burial, and
resurrection.
Because of that, the listeners believe.
And in that case, they receive the Holy
Spirit first.
Even before they get baptized.
There is the accompanying sign of
speaking in other tongues.
That is how Peter and those believers
who had come with Peter know what had
happened.
They are all familiar with this.
Because that is how they also received the
