We see the disciples preaching the gospel with Holy Spirit firepower. We see people, who believe, get baptized. WE SEE PEOPLE GETTING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. We see them speak in other tongues. And in cases where people do not believe yet, or they haven’t got baptized yet, or they haven’t received the Holy Spirit yet, we see the first disciples help those people. - By preaching to them, as Paul preached to the Ephesians in Acts 19. - By baptizing them, as Philip baptized the Samarians in Acts 8. - By praying for them to receive the Holy Spirit, as Peter and John prayed for the Samarians in Acts 8. And what terminology do the apostles use when they talk about those events later? Get a crystal-clear picture of how to bring a person to the Lord. SO THAT YOU CAN GIVE NEW BELIEVERS A GOOD HEAD START IN THEIR WALK WITH THE LORD.

5 “YOU WERE SEALED<br />
WITH THE HOLY<br />
SPIRIT.”<br />
IN HIS letter to the Ephesians, Paul<br />
reminded them how they came to the<br />
Lord.<br />
He says,<br />
[Ephesians 1:12-13]<br />
12 We who first trusted in Christ ...<br />
13 In Him you also trusted, AFTER<br />
YOU HEARD THE WORD OF TRUTH,<br />
THE GOSPEL OF YOUR <strong>SALVATION</strong> ...<br />
This was when Paul preached to them.<br />
Before, they didn’t know the truth yet.<br />
So they couldn’t receive the Holy Spirit<br />
yet.<br />
But when Paul came and preached to them<br />
the truth, then they could believe.<br />
And then they could act on their belief<br />
by getting baptized, and then receive the<br />
Holy Spirit.<br />
