COUGAR’ is a
sophisticated
word introduced to
the dating scene a few years
back. A cougar, aka Puma,
aka American mountain
lion is a fierce-looking
animal who stalks its prey
relentlessly. When it
eventually over-powers the
prey, the cougar tears it to
pieces, devours it
ferociously and licks its lips
with satisfaction at the end
of the ‘feast’. The cougar
has now replaced those we
once knew as ‘senior girls’
in the society. Women with

but with little patience to
start running after men in

FLOOD: Rivers community
expresses fears

As the raining season
approaches, Aggah, a
flood prone community in
Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local
Government Area of Rivers
State has expressed fears of
sacking by this year’s flood.
This was happening as a
Joint Investigation Visit, JV,
between Nigeria Agip Oil
Company, NAOC, and
Egbema Voice of Freedom,
EVF, on culverts projects to
end flooding in the
community ended in a
deadlock following
disagreement by engineers of
both parties in the visit.
Speaking, the leader of
Egbema Voice of Freedom,
Pastor Evarestus Nicholas,
expressed worries that the
development meant that the
community would be flooded
this year should Agip not take
proactive steps.
Nicholas said: “We had
written Agip requesting that
they show the complainant
what they have done on the
project to stop flooding in our
community but Agip wrote us
that they were bringing the
paramount ruler of the
community and others to be
part of the JV and be part of
the report.
“NAOC being two years
behind in the completion of
the project, we complained at
the early stage about the
errors we observed in the
project, but they refused to
make amends.”
He said: "Having seen
what they have done today, it
is obvious that if nothing
urgent Aggah is going to
suffer another round of
flooding".
The lead engineer to EVF,
Engr. Orji Chuks, urged
NAOC to order their
contractor back to site and
execute the project according
to specifications.

empowerment of Warri youths

would remove a lot of

detribalized politician,
urged other politicians in
the area to borrow a leaf
from him (Ereyitomi) in his
philanthropic gesture.
