In November, the George Fox theatre program put on their first
production since COVID-19, a virtual live performance of Silent
Sky by Lauren Gunderson, and developed a platform to bring a live
performance into the audience’s living rooms. Each actor was in
their own small virtual theatre studio that featured individual mics,
cameras, lighting units, projectors, projection screens, costume
racks, and props tables. Faculty chose Silent Sky for this event due
to its small cast (five) and the fact that it features strong female
characters who take destiny into their own hands despite the great
obstacles they face. Students rose to the challenge and proved to be
creative, resourceful, and fully committed to their development as
artists and storytellers.
