12 Men’s Health A new group focused on improving men’s mental health issues has been launched. Walk&Talk4Men (WAT4M) was created in 2019 in Cambridgeshire and the Wigan group, led by Ben Heaton, met for the first time in April. WAT4M Wigan gets together a couple of times a month for a stroll and a chat. The group promises to ‘give guys the opportunity to offload, get things off our chest and talk about how we are feeling rather than bottling it up and suffering in silence’. The next event is this Saturday (22nd May), meeting at Haigh Hall car park at 10.30am. If you have a man in your life who you think is struggling mentally and you want to find out more about the group, please search for ‘Walk&Talk4Men’ on Facebook. Rugby Recruits Shevington Sharks are on the lookout for any budding rugby players who would be interested in joining one of their teams. Coaches are looking to welcome players of all ages, from 4 years old to open age. With the club moving into their purpose-built facility at Vicarage Lane, there’s never been a better time to join this up and coming club. Training is on Thursdays at 6pm at Vicarage Lane and matches are played on Sunday mornings. Pink Link was created in 2009 by Coral Horn and now has 14 groups throughout the North West area. Pink Link is a supportive community for all women in business, and owners, freelancers, and employees are all welcome. In addition to the local online meetings, you can access an online business community which brings together members to share news and tips. Pink Link Wigan will be holding online networking meetings, hosted by Pink Link Network Facilitator, Rachel Riches. The next meeting is on Wednesday 2nd June from 9.30am-11am. Dance Returns The floors at St Wilfrid’s Parish Hall in Standish will once again resonate to the sounds of dancers, all making up for lost time, as the restrictions ease. Renown Wigan dance company Hurst Dance have just restarted their sessions at all their Wigan venues including St Wilf’s on Church Street. Children’s Strictly Beginner Ballroom and Latin classes run from 5.30pm for 6-16 year olds. Adults Latin Line classes run at 6.30pm and again at 7.30pm and Adults Strictly Ballroom and Latin classes run from 8.30pm.
