the <strong>higher</strong> <strong>education</strong> level is called the <strong>Swiss</strong>-<strong>European</strong> <strong>Mobility</strong> <strong>Programme</strong>.<br />
SEMP offers <strong>Swiss</strong> universities and colleges of <strong>higher</strong> <strong>education</strong> the opportunity<br />
<strong>to</strong> sponsor students, lecturers and staff for stays abroad in one of 34 <strong>European</strong><br />
<strong>Erasmus+</strong> <strong>Programme</strong> Countries (outgoing mobility). If students or <strong>higher</strong> <strong>education</strong><br />
institution staff come <strong>to</strong> Switzerland from abroad, they are also supported<br />
by SEMP as ‘incomings’. This practice guarantees exchange based on reciprocity<br />
between institutions of <strong>higher</strong> <strong>education</strong>.<br />
The budget of CHF 18 million in the academic year <strong><strong>20</strong>19</strong>/<strong>20</strong> makes SEMP the<br />
leading national mobility programme. It is implemented by <strong>Movetia</strong> and<br />
40 <strong>Swiss</strong> <strong>education</strong>al institutions. The legend on the fold-out page lists all<br />
participating institutions. The following statistical information relates <strong>to</strong><br />
outgoing mobility. Where incoming figures are declared, this is noted accordingly.<br />
