Content Provider<br />
The group or company responsible for onl<strong>in</strong>e content. See Content.<br />
Controlled Circulation<br />
Copies <strong>of</strong> a publication that are distributed free <strong>of</strong> charge to specified people or<br />
addresses. The publisher controls to who copies are circulated. Cont<strong>in</strong>ued receipt <strong>of</strong><br />
such copies may or may not be requested by the recipient.<br />
Conurbations<br />
The major urban population areas <strong>in</strong> the UK. London, Greater Manchester etc.<br />
Convergence<br />
The delivery <strong>of</strong> several types <strong>of</strong> content to a s<strong>in</strong>gle receiver. Increas<strong>in</strong>gly popular as a<br />
TV set may give access to digital TV, <strong>in</strong>teractive Web services, hi-fi audio <strong>and</strong> other<br />
services.<br />

In TV, the efficiency relationship between a broad group to another Demographic<br />

Copy Protection<br />
A way <strong>of</strong> stopp<strong>in</strong>g copyright theft from DVD's <strong>and</strong> CD's. One method employed <strong>in</strong>cludes<br />

Copy Test<br />
Another name, used <strong>in</strong> Germany, for a Page Traffic survey. In the UK <strong>and</strong> America it is<br />
also used to describe Advertis<strong>in</strong>g Pre-test<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
Core Audience<br />
The core audience is the percentage <strong>of</strong> people who watch the whole programme, from<br />
the first m<strong>in</strong>ute to the last m<strong>in</strong>ute (or some other criteria e.g. 50% <strong>of</strong> the m<strong>in</strong>utes or<br />
more). This is the most rigorous def<strong>in</strong>ition <strong>of</strong> audience <strong>and</strong> leads to the smallest figure.<br />
It is used to measure loyalty, <strong>and</strong> the pr<strong>of</strong>ile <strong>of</strong> the characteristic viewer.
