Dear Supporter,
I am delighted to welcome you to our exclusive virtual Munster Rugby event, a unique occasion during extraordinary
times.
Whilst we have not had supporters in our stadia since February 2020, we are very grateful to have our Munster
community gather online for an evening of celebration, chat, and good company.
We realise how fortunate and unique we are to have such passionate and fervent supporters all over the world. We
want to do all we can to ensure that Munster Rugby is visible and present in the lives of our supporters, irrespective
of where they are based, and this event allows us to ‘meet’ you in the safest and easiest way possible.
Tonight’s programme will outline some of the highlights from our season, one that saw us reach the Guinness
PRO14 Final and the last 16 of the Champions Cup. While we are all bitterly disappointed to come away without
silverware, we recognise the performances and hard work that went into producing 19 victories in 24 games.
There are no guarantees in sport, but we believe we have the building blocks in place to be successful. Our
excellent coach, Johann van Graan, sets the standard and, like him, everyone at the club is driven by the ambition
to be the best and to add our own winning chapter to the Munster Rugby story.
I want to thank our Partners, Patrons, 10-Year Ticket Holders, Global Dinner attendees and Supporters Club members
for your continued support. Your support is vital, makes this club what it is, and you are all important members of
the Munster Rugby family.
We look forward to welcoming you home next season when we can open Musgrave Park and Thomond Park to
you once again.

to host the popular Munster Rugby

22. ARAN ISLANDS EXPERIENCE

BIOGRAPHY
From Patrickswell, Co Limerick, Conor
came through the Munster Rugby
Academy and his rise has been meteoric.
He completed his three years with the
academy at the end of season 10/11 and
then secured a senior contract.
While in the Academy Conor made his
Munster senior debut as a replacement
against the Sale Sharks in the 2009 preseason
game in Musgrave Park.
Then his competitive debut included
a very brief appearance as a blood
replacement in Galway in the Magners
League. His second outing in the Munster
shirt was as a 78th minute replacement
against the touring Australians in
November 2010.
A year later he had established himself
as first choice scrum half for Munster
and for Ireland starting for the national
side in the World Cup in New Zealand.
Since then he has become the regular
starter in the Ireland number 9 shirt.
Murray’s 2012/13 season ended with a
Lions squad inclusion and he featured
in seven of the touring games including
two of the test games.
Made an impressive start to the 2013/14
campaign but sustained medial ligament
damage to his right knee against
Perpignan in December, an injury that will
keep him out of action for approximately
six weeks.
In the same month, Murray signed a new
two-year contract extension to keep him
at the province until at least June 2016.
Returned to the side to earn his 50th
Munster cap in the Heineken Cup win
against Gloucester at Kingsholm in
January 2014.
Started all five games in Ireland’s
successful 2014 Six Nations
campaign. Was one of the side’s
stand-out performers throughout the
Championship brilliantly setting up
Andrew Trimble for a vital try in the win
against France in Paris.
Named Munster Rugby Player of the
Year at the 2014 Munster Rugby Awards
Included in the Ireland squad for summer
tour to Argentina, 2014.
Featured for Ireland in the Guinness
Series victories over South Africa and
Australia in November 2014
Started every game for Ireland in the
successful defence of their 6 Nations
title in 2015 and was later nominated for
the IRUPA Player’s Player of the Year,
losing out to his Munster colleague Paul
O’Connell.
Featured in every game for Ireland at
the 2015 Rugby World Cup, also starting
every game of the 2016 RBS 6 Nations.
Signed a three-year contract in January
which will see him remain at Munster
through to the end of Rugby World Cup
2019.
Featured in Ireland’s first ever win over

Irish Lions tour, starting all three Tests
as the tourists drew the Series against
the All Blacks. In scoring a try in the
second Test, Murray became the first
international player in history to score
four tries against the All Blacks - three
for Ireland and one for the Lions.
Made 16 appearances for Munster in the
2017/18 campaign scoring 41 points.
Murray played a key role in Ireland’s
Grand Slam-winning 6 Nations campaign
and Summer Series win over Australia.
Missed the opening months of the
2018/19 season with a neck injury before
returning against Zebre in November
2018.
Settled back into the side immediately
and was included in the Ireland squad
for the 2019 6 Nations.

BIOGRAPHY
Tadhg Beirne joined the province ahead
of the 2018/19 season on a two-year
contract.
The versatile Ireland international moved
from Scarlets after two outstanding
campaigns with the Welsh side. He
rounded off his breakthrough 2016/17
season with an outstanding performance
in the Welsh side’s Guinness PRO12 title
win in May and helped Scarlets to the
2017/18 PRO14 final.
A former Ireland U20s player Beirne
featured in all of Ireland’s games during
the 2012 U20s 6 Nations and Junior
World Championship, lining out next
to JJ Hanrahan, Chris Farrell and Niall
Scannell.
He made his senior international debut
for Ireland on the 2018 Summer Tour to
Australia.
Awarded PRO14 Players’ Player of
the Season for his performances with
Scarlets in 2017/18.
Made his PRO14 debut for Munster away
to Glasgow in September 2018 and his
strong early season form saw him gain
further international recognition for
Beirne made his 6 Nations debut against
