<strong>SPS</strong> is the only tuition provider in Cyprus that offers the following unique learning toolbox to students:<br />

The BPP online course offers the following learning tools which will enhance the learning experience and will help<br />

students succeed in their professional exams:<br />

Classroom tuition (taught and revision phases)<br />

BPP Online Course* at no additional cost.<br />

The BPP online courses are not available for the Cyprus variant papers<br />

All necessary material (BPP revision kit, local publishers’ books, tutors’ course notes)<br />

at no additional cost<br />

Invigilated test & mock exams and mock debrief session<br />

Flexible study options for students. <strong>SPS</strong> offers part-time (evening) courses<br />

and Block Release courses<br />

Learning Delivery modes<br />

The School of Professional Studies (<strong>SPS</strong>) of European University Cyprus in <strong>Limassol</strong> offers evening (part-time) and<br />

live online block release courses (BRCs) leading to the <strong>ACCA</strong> exams.<br />

OUR PART-TIME, EVENING COURSES<br />

Usually commence in the 3rd week of January (for the June exams) and in the 3rd<br />

week of July (for the December exams) and<br />

Are usually taught on a weekly basis (1-2 times per week), 6:15 - 9:15 pm.<br />

Occasionally, Saturday classes might be held from 9:00 am - to 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm<br />

(specific details for each course are provided on the timetable)<br />

OUR BLOCK RELEASE COURSES (AVAILABLE LIVE ONLINE)<br />

Usually commence late February (for the June exams) and early August<br />

(for the December exams)<br />

These intensive courses are implemented between four to six phases depending on<br />

the subject:<br />

- 3 to 5 teaching phases (usually Friday and Saturday) which are held every 3 weeks<br />

- 1 revision phase (spread over 3 to 4 separate weeks thus allowing students adequate<br />

time to revise the material)<br />

Hybrid tuition: where the classroom mode of delivery applies, the HYBRID model is used. When students are<br />

unable to join face-to-face classes, the hybrid mode allows them to attend in a synchronous manner online.<br />

The recordings will be made available for students to watch in their own time until the exam date.<br />

DON’T PASS DON’T PAY SCHEME<br />

This Scheme allows <strong>ACCA</strong> students who have taken a paper at the <strong>SPS</strong> to attend entirely free of charge the same<br />

course in the next semester in the unlikely event of being unsuccessful, provided they meet the following conditions:<br />

1 At least 90% attendance<br />

2 At least 35% on each progress test and the final mock exam<br />

3<br />

All tests and the mock exam were attended on the <strong>SPS</strong> premises,<br />

on the scheduled date<br />

TESTS AND MOCK EXAMS<br />

Conditions permitting, tests and mocks will take place at the EUC’s premises, under invigilation. Otherwise,<br />

alternative arrangements will be made.<br />

<strong>SPS</strong><br />

EXEMPTED STUDENTS SCHEME<br />

Exempted students can join a paper they are exempted from at no cost provided they attend the corresponding<br />

advanced paper at <strong>SPS</strong>.<br />

Specifically, students receiving exemptions from any <strong>ACCA</strong> paper, and especially from TX and FR, can join the<br />

respective full <strong>SPS</strong> courses and receive all relevant material at a cost of €265. However, if later on they attend the<br />

corresponding <strong>ACCA</strong> advanced papers (e.g. ATX and SBR) at <strong>SPS</strong>, the amount already paid will be deducted from<br />

their fees.<br />

Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this scheme since it will help them refresh their knowledge<br />

and bring it up to date before attending the Strategic Professional papers thus increasing their chances of passing<br />

them on first attempt.<br />

STRATEGIC PROFESSIONAL<br />

Students who attend ALL the strategic professional papers (SBL, SBR, ATX, AAA) at <strong>SPS</strong>, will be offered a 40%<br />

discount on the last paper. The loyalty scheme will not be offered after June 2024.<br />

Discounts and Scholarships<br />

EARLY SETTLEMENT DISCOUNT<br />

<strong>SPS</strong> offers a 10% settlement discount if fees are settled by 31/07/2023 for Evening courses and by 30/09/2023 for<br />

Block Release courses. Students already benefiting from other discounts can only benefit from an additional 5%<br />

early settlement discount if payment is made within the above mentioned deadlines.<br />

OUT OF CITY DISCOUNT<br />

Τhe <strong>SPS</strong> offers an out of city discount of 20% to students who reside in other districts and attend physically the<br />

classes in Nicosia (conditions apply).<br />

SCHOLARSHIPS<br />

Τhe <strong>SPS</strong> offers scholarships to university graduates with outstanding academic performance.<br />

Test and Final Mock Exam for the non-variant papers the Mock Exam is a BPP computerized exam similar to the<br />

The School of Professional Studies is sensitive to students’ financial challenges and needs. For this reason, we<br />

offer various financial aid discounts and flexible payment terms to our students.<br />

FINANCIAL AID<br />

Students with financial need can apply for reduction of fees by completing the relevant financial aid application<br />

form and submitting it to the <strong>SPS</strong> along with all supporting documentation. All applications for financial aid are<br />

carefully and confidentially reviewed by the relevant committee and the student is then informed of the percentage<br />

that the fees will be reduced. Financial aid is offered to students with families with low income, single parent<br />

families, large families etc.<br />

FLEXIBLE PAYMENT TERMS<br />

All students are entitled to flexible payment terms. The course fee is settled in five equal monthly installments, due<br />

at the end of each month (31/07, 31/08, 30/09, 31/10, 31/11).<br />

Pathway to Success<br />

Students must choose their pathway carefully so as to successfully complete the qualification.<br />

To achieve this, they should decide in advance how many and which papers they will attempt<br />

in each examination sitting.<br />

To assist students choose the optimum exam path, our experienced <strong>ACCA</strong> administrators are<br />

always available to provide the necessary personalized guidance and assistance.<br />

Dr. Andreas Efstathiades holds a BEng (Hons) degree from Engineering Council (UK)<br />

and MPhil and PhD degrees in Management from the United Kingdom. He is currently a<br />

Professor and the MBA Program Coordinator at the European University Cyprus. He is<br />

an experienced consultant in Business Planning and Human Resources Development.<br />

Therefore he can relate theory to real life examples. Andreas is an experienced trainer<br />

with over 20 years of experience teaching Professional and <strong>ACCA</strong> courses. His area of<br />

specialization is strategic and operations management.<br />

Antoniou Chara, BA, MA<br />

Chara has been teaching <strong>ACCA</strong> and FIA (CAT) papers since 2000. She specializes<br />

in Management Accounting and Performance Management. Chara’s academic<br />

qualifications, coupled with her extensive work experience, allow her to relate<br />

theory with practice. Chara believes that students must understand the substance<br />

of the subject in order to pass their <strong>ACCA</strong> exams. In an effort to help students to<br />

concentrate on the most important elements of the syllabus, Chara has prepared her<br />

own notes, which enable students to better comprehend the material.<br />

Andreas has earned his BSc in Accounting and Finance from Greece and his MSc in<br />

Accounting, Finance and Management from the United Kingdom. He then went on to<br />

join one of the big four firms in Cyprus where he has earned his <strong>ACCA</strong> qualification.<br />

Andreas has acquired substantial experience in the field of auditing. He has worked<br />

with many international and local companies across many different industries. His<br />

professional experience, coupled with his academic and professional studies, have<br />

helped Andreas develop specialized knowledge on Accounting and particularly on<br />

IFRS. Andreas has developed his own set of notes to help students comprehend the<br />

FA (F3) material better.<br />

Raouna Claire, BSc, ACA, BFP<br />

TX (CY) Evening Course<br />

Claire is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Business Finance Professional<br />

(BFP) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). She<br />

has a BSc (Honours) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds and<br />

a MSc in Education, Leadership and Management from the Cyprus International<br />

Institute of Management (CIIM). Through her academic and professional studies,<br />

she has built a solid background in the relevant areas. Following more than five<br />

years of experience in one of the Big Four firms in Cyprus, she is currently working<br />

as Financial Controller for a private group of companies. This allows her not only to<br />

apply theory into practice, but also to enhance knowledge from real work experience.<br />

Adding to her skills and expertise, she has experience as <strong>ACCA</strong>/TQUK tutor and as<br />

facilitator of seminars to other professionals.<br />

Kythreotou Maria BA (Hons), FCCA<br />

TX (CY) Block Release Course<br />

Maria is a qualified accountant (FCCA) with a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from<br />

the UK. She has been teaching professional courses, <strong>ACCA</strong> and ICAEW, in Cyprus<br />

and abroad for more than 20 years. Her areas of specialization are Taxation, Financial<br />

Accounting and Management Accounting. Maria has earned a lot of experience<br />

working in one of the Big Four firms and in the industry holding the position of<br />

financial controller. Maria also teaches courses leading to the ICAEW qualification<br />

at <strong>SPS</strong>.<br />

Patzinakos Christos, BSc, ACA<br />

FR Evening Course<br />

AAA (INT) Evening Course<br />

Christos is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in<br />

Accounting and Finance from the University of Warwick. He was employed for<br />

10 years in the Auditing – Assurance Services Department in one of the Big Four<br />

accounting firms of Cyprus, where he held the position of the Senior Manager. His<br />

duties included the handing of a broad portfolio of clients in the banking, investment<br />

management and financial services sector, and was also involved in advisory and<br />

consulting projects in the banking industry. He was an active member of the Learning<br />

and Education team of the firm, participating as an instructor for internal training<br />

programs. Between May 2015 and May 2019, Christos held the position of CFO for<br />

the biggest card acquirer and processor of Cyprus, while also acting as the Company<br />

Secretary and Secretary of the Board of Directors. As of July 2017 Christos has also<br />

been delivering the <strong>ACCA</strong> Advanced Audit and Assurance paper with great success<br />

at the School of Professional Studies - <strong>Limassol</strong> centre. As of May 2019, he joined the<br />

School of Professional Studies on a full time basis as a tutor for both ICAEW (Financial<br />

Management and Business Planning Banking) and <strong>ACCA</strong> (Financial Reporting and<br />

Advanced Audit and Assurance) papers.<br />

Christophorou Kyriaki, BA, ACA<br />

AA Evening Course<br />

Kyriaki earned her BA (Honours) in Finance, Accounting and Management from the<br />

University of Nottingham and then qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant<br />

achieving the fifth place worldwide in the annual order of merit. She joined the<br />

Audit and Assurance department of a big 4 audit firm providing audit services to<br />

a portfolio of clients in the financial services sector, developing strong expertise in<br />

auditing, finance processes and financial analysis. After 5 years, Kyriaki joined the<br />

Internal Audit department of a systemic bank in Cyprus and she currently holds the<br />

position of Internal Audit Manager. As part of the internal audit for more than 5 years<br />

she is managing a wide range of audits and has gained extensive knowledge of the<br />

banking industry. Through these years of professional experience, Kyriaki has built<br />

an in-depth knowledge and solid understanding of what is required to pass the exam.<br />

Karayiannides Georgia BA (Hons), ACA<br />

AA Block Release Course<br />

Georgia is a qualified chartered accountant (ACA), a member of ICPAC and a holder of<br />

Bachelors degree, first class, in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster university (UK).<br />

She qualified as a chartered accountant with one of the Big 4 Companies in Cyprus (Audit<br />

and Assurance) and has 11 years of experience in accounting /reporting departments in<br />

large local and international organisations. Georgia teaches the AA evening course with<br />

enthusiasm and assists students to adopt a structured step by step approach to their<br />

studies to enable them succeed in their examination.<br />

Koutalianou Christina BSc, ACA<br />

FM Evening Course<br />

Christina has a BSc in Public and Business Administration (Accounting) from the<br />

University of Cyprus and she is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants<br />

in England and Wales (ICAEW). She is currently working in one of the Big Four firms<br />

in Cyprus as an Assistant Manager in the audit department. Her responsibilities<br />

include leading the engagement team in audit assignments of a portfolio of clients<br />

operating in various industries, through which she enhanced her knowledge and<br />

gained valuable experience in accounting and auditing. She is a member of the<br />

Learning Team of the firm with significant experience in facilitating various internal<br />

seminars.<br />

Papas Christodoulos, BA (Hons), MBA, FCCA, DipM, ACIM, MCMI<br />

SBL Evening Course<br />

Christodoulos has held senior managerial positions in commercial and financial /<br />

banking organizations and has worked in the auditing profession in Cyprus and<br />

the United Kingdom. His extensive experience helps him relate theory to real life<br />

examples. He has more than 28 years of experience in teaching professional courses<br />

both in Cyprus and abroad. He has been the lecturer of <strong>ACCA</strong> paper P3 (or its<br />

equivalent) for 24 years. He prepares his own set of exam-focused notes in an effort<br />

to help his students pass their exams.<br />

Loyides Antonis, BA, FCA<br />

SBR Evening Course<br />

Antonis is the Head of <strong>SPS</strong> <strong>Limassol</strong>. He has a BA (Hons) in Accounting, Finance and<br />

Economics (University of Sheffield), he is a Fellow ICAEW Chartered Accountant and<br />

has been a member of ICPAC’s Accounting Standards Committee for 10 years. For<br />

6 years (5 on a full-time basis), he taught advanced level Financial Reporting and<br />

Auditing papers for ICAEW , <strong>ACCA</strong> (F7 and P2) and AIA courses. He also presented<br />

numerous IFRS seminars to CFOs and other professionals in Cyprus and abroad.<br />

He then moved to Grant Thornton Cyprus where he became the firm’s IFRS and<br />

Training Partner, providing IFRS internal and external consultancy, in-house trainings<br />

(IFRS and audit) and external IFRS trainings to clients and other mid-size audit firms.<br />

Since 2019, he teaches Corporating Reporting for ICAEW and SBR for <strong>ACCA</strong> courses.<br />

Antonis combines a teaching experience since 2002, with a practical experience (as<br />

an IFRS expert) of more than 11 years, bringing together knowledge and application.<br />

Nicolaou Pavlos, MBA, FCCA<br />

SBR Block Release Course<br />

Pavlos has been teaching <strong>ACCA</strong> courses at Cyprus College since 2001 specializing in<br />

the areas of Financial Accounting, Corporate Reporting and Management Accounting.<br />

He is a qualified accountant (FCCA) and also holder of an MBA degree from the<br />

United Kingdom. He has taught <strong>ACCA</strong> courses both in Cyprus and abroad. He has<br />

also taught the F7 paper (Financial reporting) for a number of years at <strong>SPS</strong> Nicosia<br />

and the P2 paper (Corporate reporting) at <strong>SPS</strong> Nicosia and <strong>Limassol</strong>. Pavlos has<br />

prepared his own set of notes which equip the student with the required knowledge<br />

and technique so as to pass the SBR INT exam. Pavlos has worked in one of the Big<br />

Four accounting firms earning experience in auditing and financial accounting both<br />

in Cyprus and abroad.<br />

Konnari Alexia BA, <strong>ACCA</strong><br />

ATX (CY) Evening Course<br />

Alexia holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Management from the University of Essex,<br />

is a fellow member of <strong>ACCA</strong> and a member of ICPAC. Alexia is an experienced tax<br />

consultant with over 15 years of professional experience in the fields of local and<br />

international taxation, offering tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse<br />

portfolio of clients (trading, investment, financial services, real estate, shipping<br />

companies, high net worth individuals). She qualified as an <strong>ACCA</strong> with PwC Cyprus<br />

in 2003. In 2006, she undertook the position of Financial Manager in Thomas Cook<br />

Cyprus Ltd and in 2007, she joined the Tax team of Deloitte Cyprus as a Supervisor<br />

where she got progressively promoted to the position of Tax Director in 2016. During<br />

her time there, Alexia gained extensive experience in corporate restructurings,<br />

mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence projects, international tax planning and<br />

in representing clients during tax examinations, appeals and disputes. She was also<br />

a facilitator for the Deloitte trainees in Cyprus and devoted a significant amount of<br />

time in developing and coaching other members of the Deloitte tax team. Alexia also<br />

has experience in presenting tax seminars to professionals.<br />

Elena Xhollo BA (Hons), MSc, CTP, ACA<br />

ATX (CY) Block Release Course<br />

Elena is a qualified chartered accountant (ACA) with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration<br />

and an MSc in Monetary and Financial Economics. She has worked for a decade in<br />

the profession; initially as an auditor of investment holding companies and financial<br />

institutions for one of the big four firms in Cyprus. Later on, she worked from the position<br />

of a manager in the tax and legal department, overseeing a large port-folio of clients.<br />

During her involvement in the audit and corporate compliance sector, Elena managed<br />

a large portfolio of clients and had hands on experience on corporate compliance, tax<br />

and legal matters, Anti – Money Laundering (AML) legislation, FATC, CRS and other<br />

relevant legislations. As of 2016, she’s a full time tutor at the <strong>SPS</strong> of European University<br />

Cyprus, teaching a range of subjects: UK Tax Compliance and Princi-ples of Taxation<br />

(ACA), Cyprus Advanced Taxation (<strong>ACCA</strong>), Financial Accounting (ACA) and Management<br />

Accounting (ACA and <strong>ACCA</strong>). Furthermore, she is an approved HRDA level 5 trainer and<br />

delivers a variety of professional seminars.<br />
