Lady Janet Leiby welcomed everyone to Rajah’s 1st Meat Bingo
MEAT BINGO A Success
In Its Premier Event
The first Ladies Meat Bingo took place on May 7 at the
complex. By all indications it was a great success. This year’s
Meat Bingo replaced Basket Bingo. Instead of gift baskets,
Bingo winners received prizes of meat, beef, pork and chicken.
“The initial reason for switching was that Longaberger had
gone out of business so this was a good time to try something
new,” commented Lady Janet. “Also, Basket Bingo has typically
been attended by ladies. We felt that a more versatile event
would bring in more men and our attendance this year proved us
right. The event drew nearly 200 people - some were our regular
Thursday night Bingo customers, many were men. Donations
were a big part of the event’s success. Ten individuals, 11
businesses, and 24 clubs and units donated money and prizes. In
fact, this is the first Ladies Bingo were a 100% of the prizes were
donated. All monies raised go to supporting Rajah Shrine.
