What would you say is the biggest trend right now
with wedding florals?
I would say the biggest trend right now with wedding flowers
is modern and fun styles with pops of colour. Also, lots of floral
installations with different looks for the aisle backdrop.
What are the most common flowers that couples ask
for as part of their centerpieces and bouquets?
The most common flowers are always roses. They always seem
to be a favourite as they come in every colour, smell wonderful
and there are lots of ways to style them.
Are there any flowers that you often get requests for
that are not in season during peak wedding season?
With the pandemic, there is actually a shortage of flowers. As a
lot of the flowers are imported from the South, there has been
a lot of disruption in the industry of getting the flowers into
Canada. So, it’s not really that I can’t get a peony per say, it’s
more of how much are you willing to pay for something? And
waiting to see if the shipment is in for that week. That’s why I
always educated my couples to tell them that sometimes
flowers will have to be swapped for something similar in
season. Having multiple suppliers is key.
