Do you have advice on how couples can find 2SLGBTQ+

friendly vendors?

I wish we could give some concrete indicators, but even wellintentioned

vendors can miss the mark and unintentionally

cause harm. Look for vendors who are vocal on their social

media about what matters to them. Look for portfolio content

that makes you feel celebrated. Seek out vendors who identify

with the same communities you do. Ask around, word of

mouth is everything. Create a little questionnaire to send off to

prospective vendors to see if they meet your criteria. You are

hiring them. So, they need your approval, not the other way

around!

Do you have any other tips for our couples?

Don’t settle for less than you deserve. You might have to

advocate for yourself in the process. Don’t be afraid to ask for

help from your community, or from vendors that you trust to

direct you.

Is there anything you feel is important for our readers

to know about the 2SLGBTQ+ community and wedding

planning?

It is incredibly important to educate yourself as a vendor so

that you can best serve your clients. There are so many free

resources out there or even better, you can invest in a workshop

like Changing the Lens. Imagine having to educate someone that

you’re paying to provide a service for you? Don’t put the onus

on your paying customers to do that work for you. Let them

celebrate their love and feel supported in the process. Connect

with us @ctl.collective for upcoming opportunities!
