Pretty Plans
Trading Boundaries’ Wedding Day
Showcase on Sunday 29 August will
be a fantastic opportunity to explore
and enjoy the venue fully dressed
and decorated with their new Indian
marquees and pergolas pitched for
a beautiful summer wedding. RSVP
online at tradingboundaries.com/
weddings to attend and receive a
complimentary glass of Champagne
on arrival. This free open day will be
a brilliant chance to meet Trading
Boundaries’ favourite caterers and
wedding suppliers, whilst checking
out the landscaped grounds and
discussing all the requirements for
your perfect day with dedicated
members of the wedding team.
The summer holidays are here and The National Trust have put together a
calendar of family-friendly activites to keep us all amused in the Great British
countryside. Thanks to funding from Sport England, visitors will be able to
have a go at over 20 different activities such as ‘go barefoot’, ‘make a splash’,
and ‘work together’ checking off each challenge on special ‘Get Set Go’
cards along the way. In Kent there will be a new summer treasures trail
at Chartwell, a new mini-beast trail complete with a bug hotel at
Ightham Mote, and a dragonfly experience at Sissinghurst Castle
(where the stunning Delos garden has also just been restored).
Emmetts Garden will also have two open-air theatre performances
this month – Immersion Theatre’s Jungle Book on 10th, and the
Lord Chamberlain’s Men’s Macbeth on 12th. Meanwhile, in East
Sussex, there will be medieval games including mini jousting,
hobby horses, and a ‘Siege the Castle’ game at Bodiam Castle,
and Bateman’s (pictured above) will have outdoor poetry
readings and storytelling as well as a garden-inspired trail and
the perfect picnicing spot by The Lily Pond. The last stop
on our round up of National Trust events of course has to be
Surrey, where Polesden Lacey will have pop-up scenes from
Shakespeare, live jazz music on Sundays and outdoor cinema
under the stars from 5th-8th August. And Claremont Landscape
Garden will also have its own theatrical fun as it hosts Peter
Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny in a delightful new adaptation of the
Beatrix Potter classics on 20th. With so much to see and do, the
real challenge here is deciding where to start! nationaltrust.org.uk
