STEPPING FORWARD
Let God Guide
You to a New
Adventure
BY LINDA CUBBEDGE-SMITH
“I HEAR THE LORD saying, ‘I
will stay close to you, instructing
and guiding you along the
pathway for your life. I will advise
you along the way and lead
you forth with my eyes as your
guide. So don’t make it difficult;
don’t be stubborn when I take
you where you’ve not been before.
Don’t make me tug you
and pull you along. Just come
with me!’” (Psalm 32:8–9 The
Passion Translation).
I love this translation of this
beautiful promise. For the past
several months, these verses
have assured me that I can
trust the Lord no matter what
is going on in my life. He has
already proven Himself faithful
through many severe and
stormy waters (Isaiah 43:2).
I thank God for His faithful
love and for guiding us safely
through every storm. He
always brings us to a place of
rest and freedom.
Now, I don’t always understand
the whys or whats He
takes me through, but I don’t
need to. The Lord says in Isaiah
55:8–9: “My thoughts are not
your thoughts, neither are your
ways my ways.” I know I can
trust the Lord to navigate my
path and bring me to a place of
freedom. If I stay close to Him
and obey His instructions, an
overcoming victory will be
mine (Romans 8:37). And the
same is true for you. Trusting
the Lord is a process, but as we
learn to enjoy spending time
with Jesus, He will direct our
steps and bring blessing and
adventure into our lives.
of His unconditional love for
humanity. And along the way,
I’ve grown in my love for Jesus
and others. I’ve come to understand
how truly valuable every
person is to God. Regardless
of our past or present circumstances,
His love will continue
to pursue us even to the end
of our days.
Jesus Christ paid the ultimate
price to redeem humanity
from the powers of darkness
through His death, burial, and
resurrection. It has been a
blessing to share this message
with others over the years.
