Ballwin Days brings
entertainment for all ages

Before becoming one of the mainstay
West County summer festivals, Ballwin
Days made its name all the way back in
1978 when then-Mayor Richard Andrews
brought together a group of volunteers to
research and plan an event that would cater
to the entire community.
Today, Ballwin Days continues to provide
summer fun to participants of all ages
with its myriad of musical entertainers,
activities, and attractions to create lifelong
memories over the weekend.
The Well Hungarians
Concert line-up
Back by popular demand, the Well Hungarians
on the main stage on Friday, Aug.
20. Known for their American country and
rock band hits, the Well Hungarians have
performed with several well-known country
music stars over the years, including
Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson and Travis
Tritt.
They were presented the “Country Group
of the Year” award in 2006 by New Music
Weekly Magazine out of Hollywood, California.
Performances include great original
music as well as country, rock, pop,
Motown, and classic cover songs ranging
from the Charlie Daniels Band and Zak
Brown Band, to Bad Company and Lynyrd
Skynyrd, to Ed Sheeran and Maroon 5, and
more. Their musical repertoire covers a
wide spectrum of songs from the 1970s to
current day hits, meaning there is a tune for
everyone to dance to at this concert.
On Saturday at 6 p.m., Cole Blue Steel
will take the stage. Cole Blue Steel is a
singer and songwriter known for his guitar
abilities and wide vocal range.
That same day, singer-songwriter J.D.
Shelburne will treat attendees to his original
country tracks.
Shelburne a rising music star out of Kentucky
who has already made a name for
himself in the world of country music. He
was even named by Texas Roadhouse as a
featured artist for the month of May, and
also featured on the cover of the 2020 Kentucky
Tourism guide and Kentucky Living
Magazine’s April Edition.
Shelburne does dates more than two
hundred times a year in venues ranging
from packed clubs to huge festivals. He
also has opened for Miranda Lambert,
Craig Morgan, Chris Young, Marty Stuart,
Jamey Johnson, and Montgomery Gentry.
On Sunday, the Brick City Shakers will
play in the festival’s Beer
Garden. The band is a St.
Louis-based string quartet.
Focused on the songs passed
down from generations
before, provided now by our
contemporaries and original
songs from our own members.
The Brick City Shakers
present elements of Bluegrass,
Folk-Americana, and
classic tunes to sing along
with. They blend the sounds
of different string instruments
seamlessly with vocals
provided by each of the four
members. Their sound and
catalog have been developed
through years of “pickin’” in back yards,
riversides, stages and through life long
friendships.

Kids Korner
Another returning tradition to this year’s
festival is the Kids Korner, an area for children
of all ages to engage in an array of
fun activities. The area will be open from
10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22.
