Safety clearance
The spatial restrictions associated with
narrow-stile doors mean there is a risk of
hands getting caught between the closing
face and the door jamb when operating
the door (see figure). DIN 31001 stipulates
a clearance of 25 mm between the lever
handle and the closing edge. Detailed
information on safety clearances can be
found in DIN 31001.
Depending on the lock backset and the
width of the door profile, the in-line lever
handle is ideally combined with a cranked
lever handle for narrow-stile doors. Two
in-line lever handles for narrow-stile doors
can also be combined.
