Cash Boost<br />
Rainford’s Picnic in the Park team are celebrating after<br />
donating an amazing £6,000 to local sports and community<br />
organisations from this year’s successful festival that was<br />
held in June. The four organisations receiving £1,500<br />
each from the festival’s profits are Rainford Rangers JFC,<br />
Rainford Cricket Club, Rainford Tennis Club and Rainford<br />
Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Association.<br />
One of the organisers, Phil Thomas, hailed the success of<br />
the event, “This year was very hard as COVID caused so<br />
many problems and obstacles for us, but we sold out for<br />
the first time and it ended up being our best ever event!”<br />
The Picnic in the Park team have confirmed that next<br />
year’s festival will be held on June 4th 2022.<br />
Soul & Motown Night<br />
Park Road Café in Parr will be hosting a Soul and Motown<br />
night in aid of the Liverpool Women’s Neonatal Unit on<br />
Saturday <strong>Sep</strong>tember 18.<br />
Entertainment on the night will include music from Soul<br />
DJ, Chis Wilson, licensed bar, a raffle and a hot pot supper.<br />
Doors will open 8pm-late, and tickets are £10 per person,<br />
with all proceeds going directly to the charity.<br />
