THE RACE is on!<br />
THe sooner we get our vaccination rates<br />
up into the 90s, the sooner we can get<br />
back to level one. Wouldn’t that be great<br />
for Christmas?<br />
And that’s what Super Saturday is all<br />
about. Every single councillor is giving the<br />
thumbs up for the campaign.<br />
We don’t always see eye to eye on<br />
everything, but we agree on this.<br />
Every single one of us has had one or<br />
both shots, and we want to back everyone<br />
else doing the same.<br />
This is not something you are doing<br />
for yourself – it’s for your family and<br />
your community – and it’s for all of our<br />
essential health workers in clinics and<br />
hospitals around the city, who would<br />
be on the frontline if we had a Delta<br />
outbreak. We have seen how quickly it<br />
spreads, and we know the damage it does.<br />
<strong>The</strong> main question I’ve been asked is<br />
where people can just rock up for a shot<br />
without an appointment.<br />
Almost every vaccination place is<br />
providing for walk-ins on Saturday,<br />
including a lot of pharmacies all over<br />
the city, and there is a drive-through<br />
at Christchurch Arena (by Addington<br />
Raceway). <strong>The</strong>re’s been a focus on getting<br />
the stats up in the east. So, there’s even<br />
a bouncy castle and spot prizes at<br />
Eastgate.<br />
I’m sure Nga Hau e Wha Marae will be<br />
busy on Saturday, and for those who can’t<br />
do Saturday, there is a drop-in clinic at<br />
the Congregational Christian Church of<br />
Samoa (EFKS) in Woolston.<br />
