Choices<br />
Is anything really your choice?<br />
Or is it influenced by another’s voice<br />
When on a walk you could choose to go across<br />
the grass and cut off a minute from your time<br />
This taught by a teacher that to be late would<br />
be a crime<br />
You could follow the path and avoid getting<br />
<br />
your socks wet<br />
This taught by a parent to avoid the upset<br />
So, I ask again, is anything coming from your<br />
own inner voice<br />
Or does it all originate from another’s choice?<br />
Charlotte explained;<br />
This is a poem that I got inspiration from<br />
when walking home from school on a rainy<br />
day and it’s questioning whether any decision<br />
in your life was ever your own or whether it<br />
always had some connection to what someone<br />
had said to you.<br />
