Choices
Is anything really your choice?
Or is it influenced by another’s voice
When on a walk you could choose to go across
the grass and cut off a minute from your time
This taught by a teacher that to be late would
be a crime
You could follow the path and avoid getting
your socks wet
This taught by a parent to avoid the upset
So, I ask again, is anything coming from your
own inner voice
Or does it all originate from another’s choice?
Charlotte explained;
This is a poem that I got inspiration from
when walking home from school on a rainy
day and it’s questioning whether any decision
in your life was ever your own or whether it
always had some connection to what someone
had said to you.

Choice of Life
Swaying from side to side the daisies fly,
The wind catches them with its fateful cry.
The peaceful lake stretched out for miles,
And filled the air with exuberant smiles.
On the other side, however, there were fiery graves;
With grime, dust and filthy caves.
No angels in sight, to show you the way.
Just devils in carnet, to make you pay.
The choices you make in life everyday,
Determine the side you eternally stay.
Heaven or hell is a concept so strange,
Anything could happen in a sudden change.
Make the right choices in life.
It’ll determine how you live forevermore.
Jake said;
"The poem was about the choices you
make in life and how they determine if
you go to heaven or hell after you die.
Heaven is a peaceful happy place
whereas hell is the polar opposite and is
fiery and sinister. It links to choice
because it rides on every choice you
make."
