Captains Report
Kempton Park
Dear Nomads,
Welcoming back the Nationals team from a successful and most enjoyable tournament
held at Champaign Sports Resort, with 40+ participants, the largest team it was always
going to be a tough ask to win the Bert Hunt Trophy. A massive congratulations to
Frankie Brown and the Southern Cape team for winning the tournament, we will see
you all at the Zulu Nationals in March 2022.
It was an honour and a privilege to be able to Captain a team led by non-other than Mr.
Jimmy Sales participating in his 50 th consecutive National tournament an astonishing
feat never to be repeated. Congratulations uncle Jimmy!
We as Easterns are very proud of the involvement that our members have on a National
level and as appreciation of this Mr. Vic Hall and Mr. Gary Bray were awarded with Honorary
Life member status at the National Tournament by the HLM committee.
Congratulations to the National co-ordinator Robbie Frank and his committee on putting
together a successful tournament during very trying times, it was an amazing advert for
Nomads golf in general and thoroughly enjoyable for the 300+ Nomads who participated
in the event. It truly is a magical experience.
Our monthly game at Kempton Park was the destination for another very special award,
Uncle Jimmy Sales received his 50 th year tie award. There is no better example of commitment,
dedication and passion towards the Nomads fraternity.
