IN THE CHAIR
A warm welcome to Southall for today's
Cherry Red Records Combined Counties
League Premier Division North fixture.
Hello everyone and welcome to today’s combined
counties fixture against Southall.
We coming to this game on the back of two straight
league wins and hope to see this run continue
although high-flying Southall are bound to be difficult
opponents today.
Like everyone else I have been following the
developments on the Covid front carefully in the past
week or so. Fortunately they tightening restrictions do
not seem to be impacting on grassroots football at the
moment but it is a good reminder to all of us to
continue taking sensible precautions where we can –
nobody wants anymore fixtures being cancelled!
We have a really busy few weeks planned at Ascot
United - as well as lots of private parties we will be
organising Christmas get-togethers for all of our
junior members in their age groups. This gives all of
the parents coaches and players a chance to come
together before Christmas and to celebrate the first
half of the season. With 80 junior teams at the club
you can imagine that this requires a great deal of
organising and I would like to publicly thank Sam, Lisa
and Joe in particular for all of their hard work behindthe-scenes.
We also have a fantastic Berks and Bucks cup fixture
to look out to look forward to against Maidenhead.
This was originally due to be played this week but due
to issues in the Maidenhead camp it has now been
rearranged for the 21st of December which will be be
our final game before Christmas. Please put this in
your diaries as it is expected to be a fantastic game
and we look forward to welcoming a big crowd to The
Racecourse.
I hope you all enjoy the game today. Simon
