Best friends don't always have to have the same opinion!
It can be safely said that the world we are living in today is a mere shadow of what
it was when I was a teenager. Every aspect of life has exponentially advanced from the
technology we use daily to health & medical care. When I was a young boy, news came in
print form and by what we caught on T.V. & radio. Today, we are informed nearly instantaneously
of current events around the world in near real-time. The weather patterns
and devastation being seen today are unprecedented. Threats of superpowers against
superpowers lead us to watch in fear of whom will invade whom and the repercussions
they will bring. Governments have the power and authority to control the lives of every
citizen under them. A global pandemic has affected the lives of nearly every single person
on the planet today. All these things sound like the plot of the next blockbuster we
might see on film, but the sad reality is this is not fiction – It is what we are experiencing
now. In Matthew 24:3, the disciples of Jesus came to Him asking about the signs of the
end times: (Read all of chapter 24 for more insight)
— Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell
us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of
the age?” —
Jesus quotes scripture from the Old Testament and also describes a time and events
that eerily parallel our current time. A key note also relates to current times.
— Matthew 24:10-14
10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will
abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the
nations, and then the end will come. —
We are living in a time where many people are offended and many hate one another. It
is plainly seen every day. Do you think with todays technologly, the whole world will have
heard the Gospel of Christ? This is the time to stand up and witness for Christ.
