Sam Bell has returned from his short<br />
loan spell at Grimsby Town, where he<br />
scored one goal for the Mariners.<br />
It was an opportunity for more regular<br />
football for the young striker – the son<br />
of <strong>City</strong> legend Micky Bell – who gained<br />
experience at Vanarama National<br />
League level.<br />
Bell made his debut for the Robins last<br />
season, coming off the bench against<br />
Birmingham <strong>City</strong> in December 2020,<br />
describing his breakthrough campaign<br />
as a "learning curve." He has gone on to<br />
make seven first team appearances.<br />
After impressing, the teenager earned<br />
himself a new contract in April, when<br />
he put pen to paper on a three-year deal<br />
with his boyhood club.<br />
Speaking at the time, Manager Nigel<br />
Pearson said: "What I like about him<br />
is he’s a bit of a smiling assassin, he<br />
enjoys succeeding on the pitch and<br />
he has the capacity to work hard at<br />
incredible intensity."
