R.S.L. News
In 2020, Girgarre R.S.L. turned 100 years old. Our commemoration was put on hold
until 2021. But as we all know, 2021 was like no other due to the Covid-19 pandemic
affecting all aspects of our lives. We, the R.S.L. were no exception, but it left us asking,
“How do we ensure the appropriate commemoration of this significant milestone?”
The answer was very simple: we hold off until 2022. So on Saturday 5 th March 2022,
we will be opening the doors to our R.S.L. meeting room to the general public (subject
to Covid-19 regulations). Children will be most welcome.
We will put together a “free event”, “open to all”, a display of old photographs, posters, uniforms, books and other
items of interest. We will also have R.S.L. members present who may be able to assist you with information on Service
Records or roles R.S.L members have played in war and peace and their contribution to the community up to
present day.
Should you have any old photos, other items of interest that could enhance our day, we would be most grateful for
the loan of them.
