In the case of Swimming, a recipient must have represented the Mpumalanga team for 4 years, and have represented the school team in their Matric year: Soccer Benny Gondwe, Mbuso Mathe and Lloyd Radebe Netball Ashley Mabuza, Astrid Kouatcho, Chante dos Reis, Zethu Shube and Portia Nkosi Rugby Gugu Shongwe, Otto Buchner and Lloyd Radebe Hockey Ryan Innes Cricket Michael Chandler The Eagle Award is also made to a scholar who has been a committed team member for a number of years, and represented the Province and his school with distinction. Jason Hogg was presented with the Eagle Award for representing Penryn College in no less than six 1 st teams namely:- Hockey, Rugby, Soccer, Cricket, Athletics and Swimming. The Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year � The Penryn College Sportswoman of the Year for 2012 is Tracy Shaw – Mpumalanga Schools Hockey u18C (Vice Captain), Penryn 1 st Hockey team and Penryn 1 st Girls Tennis Team Captain � The Penryn College Sportsman of the Year for 2012 is Mathew Schofield – represented South Africa at the UCI Junior World Cup, Mpumalanga at the MTB Nationals, and regular winner of cycling events in the Lowveld and played in the Penryn 1 st Boys Hockey team. These awards are based on scholars’ achievements and Performance rather than participation. 18

Kite was second, Harrier third and Goshawk fourth.
