All of the participants should be carry<strong>in</strong>g survival bags. These<br />
make great groundsheets <strong>for</strong> when they are cook<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> camp, or <strong>for</strong><br />
rucksack covers if bags have to be left outside the tent over night.<br />
<strong>Top</strong> Tip 42<br />
Remember that participants are far more likely to have to deal with<br />
accidents to other people than to their own team. They should be<br />
well tra<strong>in</strong>ed and competent to deal with any <strong>in</strong>cidents.<br />
<strong>Top</strong> Tip 43<br />
After the expedition make three piles of equipment:<br />
− Essential equipment that must be taken e.g. waterproofs, first<br />
aid kit etc.<br />
− A pile of all of the equipment that was used<br />
− A pile of everyth<strong>in</strong>g that was not used<br />
Go through the unused kit and discuss whether it should have<br />
been taken and whether it needs to be taken next time.<br />
