Dear Friends, Alumni, Colleagues, and Guests:
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the annual
University of Maryland School of Medicine Gala. What
an amazing journey this has been. On behalf of the entire
School of Medicine, I thank you for taking time to
be with us virtually to celebrate this special evening.
We deeply value your partnership, support, and
friendship.
The theme for this evening is Vision and Victories. The
School of Medicine conducts groundbreaking biomedical research, provides innovative
medical education, and delivers advanced care, making a difference in
the lives of those we train and treat, and many more around the world, today
and for generations to come.
Now in our third century, the University of Maryland School of Medicine ranks
in the top tier of U.S. medical schools, and our academic community is poised to

this important event. This
year’s theme, Vision and Victories,
highlights the incredible
School of Medicine community,
and celebrates the innovators –
the physicians, biomedical researchers, and allied health professionals – who are
breaking boundaries and establishing Maryland as a medical powerhouse well beyond
its borders.

to bring new hope in emerging fields, apply cutting edge research for better patient
