The exhibition presented the diverse techniques, work and ideas of local NSW

based textile collective Untethered Fibre Artists Inc. Founded in 2014, Untethered

Fibre Artists Inc. produce and exhibit art using fibre and textile materials and

processes. Recognising that creating artworks using fibre is often time consuming

and driven by a shared desire to exhibit their works, the group formed with the

aim to exhibit their work annually.

Eighteen artists were included and responded to the theme ‘signatures’ in

this, their annual show, presenting a variety of techniques and mediums. Many

reflected the current climate and recent events exploring pandemic, bushfires,

environmental concerns and the influence of technology, adding an urgency to

the exhibition.

Associated artists talks and workshops added value to the experience for the

audience.
